Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, September 7, reveals that Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier) put his hand on Kate Roberts Brady’s (Lauren Koslow) shoulder at the pub, so she was glad he finally found the time to come see his mother.
Philip explained that he visited Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) at Statesville, but Kate pointed out that he couldn’t have been there the entire time since he’d been back.
Kate learned Philip had been to see Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin), so she worried about his lingering love for her.
However, Philip pointed out that Chloe was engaged with Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) now.
There was also talk about Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) not pressing charges, so Philip gave Kate updates on that.
At the townhouse on Thursday’s Days episode, Brady took Theresa Donovan’s (Jen Lilley) phone call and refused to attend Victor Kiriakis’ (John Aniston) funeral with her since they weren’t family.
Belle Black Brady (Martha Madison) and Shawn Brady (Beemer) were there when Brady hung up on Theresa, so he filled them in on her futile attempts to reunite.
In Maggie Kiriakis’ (Suzanne Rogers) room on Thursday’s DOOL show, she got some support from Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) ahead of the funeral.
Maggie told Sarah that it wasn’t too late to tell Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) the truth, so Chelsea Brady (Rachel Melvin) popped up and wondered what they were talking about.
Chelsea quickly decided she was being too nosy, but she took a moment to finally meet Sarah and give Maggie her condolences.
Outside the mausoleum where Victor wanted to be laid to rest, Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) reflected on the loss before Chelsea appeared.
Chelsea met Alex and mentioned that she’d seen his picture online before.
After Theresa failed to get Brady to attend the funeral with her, she showed up flying solo.
Alex met Theresa and confirmed that they weren’t related before she admitted she was trying to win Brady back.
The old Alex would’ve told Theresa to keep pursuing Brady while the new Alex felt that Theresa should probably back off.
Theresa joked about liking the old Alex better and flirted by suggesting she liked to get into all sorts of trouble.
Inside the Kiriakis mansion, Sonny Kiriakis (Zach Tinker) nearly got into a brawl with Xander, but Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) and Bonnie Kiriakis (Judi Evans) convinced them to be more respectful of Victor’s memory and Maggie’s wishes.
Even so, Sonny ranted about Xander’s past and mentioned something about Sarah carrying Rex Brady’s (Kyle Lowder) baby.
Bonnie piped up about that not being true, but she covered by insisting Xander wasn’t the horror show Sonny made him out to be.
In the town square on Thursday’s Days episode, Rex ran into Chloe, so they got honest about how their romantic situations benefited each other.
Once the funeral began later, Chelsea made a speech about Victor’s love – and so did Sonny. Justin, Brady and Philip also said a few words, which led to Philip breaking down in tears in front of everyone.
After Belle and Shawn caught up with Chelsea, they joined the others for the service.
Once Belle saw that Philip was struggling with his speech, she ran over to comfort him and left Shawn looking jealous.
Justin ultimately wrapped up the service with a poem as the show flashed back to plenty of Victor scenes.
In the town square on Thursday’s Days episode, Brady and Alex arrived to pick up some food from a nearby restaurant.
Theresa wanted to help, but Brady basically acted like she was stalking him.
Alex insisted that was no way for Brady to treat the mother of his kid, so Theresa appreciated the fact that someone had manners.
It seemed like the wheels were turning for Theresa as she decided to invite Alex to dinner this weekend so they could get to know each other better.
Theresa obviously wanted to make Brady jealous, but he was mostly irritated over her presence and scheming.
Theresa made it clear that she was thinking of sticking around for a bit and told Alex to let her know about that weekend dinner.
Back at the Kiriakis mansion, Kate praised Maggie for being the best match out of all Victor’s wives, but Vivian Alamain (Louise Sorel) appeared and said that was a matter of opinion!
Sarah looked guilty over Xander’s speech about trying to emulate Victor if he was ever blessed with children.
Later, Sarah cried out in pain and admitted that water just broke, so Xander and Rex were surprised over the news.
Outside the pub, Belle wondered what was taking Shawn so long since he went to pack Stephanie a lunch.
Behind the bar, Shawn grabbed a bottle of booze and took a swig from it.
Days of Our Lives spoilers say Shawn’s drinking will lead to even more issues, so stay tuned.
