Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Tuesday, August 15, reveals that Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) was excited to see the lava fields and visit the hot springs with Dimitri von Leuschner (Peter Porte), but she was willing to skip all that and hit the sheets with her new husband instead.
Dimitri insisted they should enjoy all the sights Iceland had to offer and convinced Gwen to go pick up their tickets from the concierge.
After Dimitri said he’d meet Gwen down in the lobby, she skipped off and gave Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) an opportunity to sneak in the room.
Dimitri was thrilled to see Leo and pulled him into a kiss, but he warned Leo to hide when Gwen suddenly returned.
While Leo was in the bathroom eavesdropping, Dimitri told Gwen that he was having some “issues” after eating the Icelandic yogurt.
Although Gwen wanted to stay there and take care of her hubby, Dimitri urged her to go enjoy the lava fields alone and suggested he could join her for the hot springs once he was feeling better.
After Gwen left on Tuesday’s Days episode, Dimitri and Leo wound up sleeping together, but Leo felt guilty and contemplated heading back to Salem.
Leo eventually got dressed while Dimitri remained in his robe.
Dimitri wanted to kiss Leo goodbye, but Leo feared he’d never leave if Dimitri did that.
After Dimitri pushed Leo to confirm that he’d see him later, Leo agreed that he would.
When Leo opened the door to exit, he was surprised to see Gwen standing there. Of course, Gwen was even more surprised to see Leo!
Back in Salem on Tuesday’s DOOL show, Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) had concerns about Abe Carver (James Reynolds) derailing Deputy Mayor Clint Rawlings’ (Grayson Berry) press conference and taking over his mayoral duties again.
In fact, Steve thought Abe would crash and burn, so he offered updates on his bad feeling and tried to convince Abe this could end in disastrous news.
Nevertheless, Abe was adamant about resuming his old job and ultimately left with Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) since she planned to stand by her husband’s side.
In the town square, Clint spoke to the press and was eager to share plans for his administration, but Abe piped up to insist he’d be stepping back in as Salem’s mayor.
When Clint argued that he couldn’t in good conscience let someone without all his faculties fill that role, Abe got agitated.
Although Abe demanded Clint’s resignation by the end of the day, Clint kept acting like Abe wasn’t mentally fit for the position.
According to Clint, Abe’s decisions before his ordeal were also questionable since he hired Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering), who had an inappropriate relationship with his subordinate.
Clint also felt that Abe was using his position to try and get Chanel Dupree’s (Raven Bowens) bakery reopened, so he thought both Abe and Paulina should be ashamed of themselves.
Abe insisted he was ready and capable of being the mayor again, but he got flustered as reporters asked questions about his memory and left him unable to name any city council members.
Outside the pub on Tuesday’s Days episode, Talia Hunter (Aketra Sevillian) ran into Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) and acknowledged that they’d probably never be friends because of what she did to Chanel.
Still, Talia hoped they could at least be civil and promised she wouldn’t do anything to hurt Chanel again.
After Talia handed over a cup of coffee as a peace offering, Johnny gave her a smile and suggested it was a start.
At the hospital, Johnny paid Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) a visit since their previous session got interrupted, so that gave him a chance to open up about his feelings for Chanel.
Now Johnny was sure about them since talking to Talia made him realize how protective he was of his former wife.
Marlena gave Johnny a nudge to be honest, so he decided he’d go tell Chanel the truth.
Once Johnny left on Tuesday’s Days episode, Marlena visited Steve and Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) to discuss the negative press for Abe since they were tearing him apart.
After Chanel opened up to Paulina about her heart skipping a beat when Talia admitted her feelings, she seemed unsure of the whole situation.
Chanel decided to go for a run to clear her head, but Talia showed up before she could leave.
Although Talia offered to come back later, Chanel insisted she wasn’t in any rush.
Talia reflected on what she said before and tried to take back her feelings since she put Chanel on the spot.
However, Chanel admitted she still felt something for Talia – though she needed to go slow.
When Chanel mentioned the free concert in the park, Talia agreed she’d like to go with her.
As Talia and Chanel settled on plans for their date, Johnny overheard and looked upset as he dashed off.
