Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Tuesday, December 5, reveals that Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) snuck up on Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) at The Bistro, so she snapped at him for scaring her and learned Clyde Weston (James Read) had given him a set of keys.
Now that Stefan was taking over for Gil Carter (David S. Lee), he insisted that Clyde wanted the place open ASAP. However, Stefan had been doing some thinking and had decided that taking Clyde out was the only way to end this.
Stefan explained his plan to have Vivian Alamain’s (Louise Sorel) henchman, Ivan Marais (Ivan G’Vera), cause Clyde’s grim fate behind bars.
Although Stefan knew he could call Vivian in Alamainia and get her to deliver the order to Ivan, Ava thought the plan was too risky.
If Ivan failed, then Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams) and Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) could pay with their lives.
At the Salem PD, Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) gave Harris Michaels (Steve Burton) updates on a drug stash that went missing and derailed a case.
It happened around the time Harris’ keys went missing, so Rafe thought someone might’ve swiped them to enter the evidence room.
Harris beat himself up over letting it happen, but Rafe didn’t hold it against him.
Later, Harris found Ava with Stefan, who explained that he was The Bistro’s new owner.
Stefan acted like he was just going over some changes he wanted to make at the restaurant moving forward, but Ava warned that they shouldn’t do anything risky that they both might regret.
After Stefan reassured Ava and took off, he made a phone call to Vivian in the town square.
Back with Harris on Tuesday’s Days episode, he hoped seeing Ava might lift his spirits.
Harris explained that his missing keys botched a case conviction and once again wondered if Ava remembered anything, but she insisted she didn’t.
Ava wanted to cheer Harris up, so she suggested they should finally get around to that date they’d been planning.
Back at the police station on Tuesday’s DOOL show, EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) ripped up the paper Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) had just signed and acted like he wasn’t going to let him walk free after all.
Leo protested since Dimitri von Leuschner (Peter Porte) had shown up as promised, but EJ pointed out that he didn’t sign anything related to the deal as the DA.
Dimitri argued that EJ couldn’t make this stick without his confession since the Salem PD had such a poor track record.
After Dimitri urged EJ to take the win and accept his big fish, EJ relented and told Rafe to book him.
Dimitri was handcuffed before he got a moment alone with Leo, who was grateful, relieved and sad all at once.
The idea of Dimitri sacrificing his freedom for Leo meant a lot, but he admitted he almost didn’t.
That led to Dimitri giving Leo the news about Darius Rose aka Jackie Cox (Jackie Cox) offering to get him out of the country, but Dimitri stayed behind to make this deal for Leo’s sake.
Leo worried EJ would still renege on the deal and reinstate the murder charge, but Dimitri confessed that Nicole Walker-DiMera’s (Arianne Zucker) baby was alive.
Before Dimitri could really elaborate, Rafe returned to haul him away.
At the hospital on Tuesday’s Days episode, Sloan Petersen-Brady (Jessica Serfaty) ranted about not consenting to this DNA test and urged Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) not to open the results.
Eric acted like it was too late anyway since the test was done, so he suggested they should just put everyone’s mind at ease and open them.
Nicole assumed Sloan was freaking out since she knew the outcome of the test would prove this was Nicole’s baby.
Unfortunately, when Nicole snatched up the results and opened the envelope, she saw that the test proved there was no genetic match.
Nicole asked Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) if there could’ve been some mistake and wanted confirmation that her DNA had been tested against this baby’s DNA.
Kayla admitted there wasn’t enough DNA on Nicole’s toothbrush for the test, so they just used EJ’s sample that was on file at the hospital.
Sloan piped up about how that settled it since there was no doubt that this was EJ’s child.
Nicole lashed out at Eric for humoring her when he didn’t really believe this was her infant.
As Nicole wondered how she could’ve been so wrong, she said a tearful goodbye to the baby and ran out. Eric seemed distraught over Nicole’s heartache and called out after her.
At the DiMera mansion on Tuesday’s Days episode, EJ told Nicole that he had to let Leo go, but he assured her that Dimitri was in custody.
EJ also mentioned that he had to drop the murder charge, but Nicole didn’t care since she was so preoccupied with all the DNA test drama.
After Nicole explained what happened, EJ offered comfort and suggested they should go lie down together.
Once Sloan and Eric took the baby home, she fumed at him for moving forward with the DNA test without her approval.
Sloan wondered if Eric really believed she could be some deranged baby snatcher.
Eric acted like he wasn’t worried until Sloan had such a weird reaction.
Since Sloan started flipping out over the DNA test, it made Eric worry she had something to hide.
That offended Sloan, but then she got the news about everything working out with Dimitri and Leo at the police station.
Once Sloan calmed down, she apologized for overreacting and patched things up with Eric.
Since the baby needed a name, Eric confessed that lately he’d been praying to St. Jude, the patron saint of lost causes.
Once Eric suggested Jude as a name for their little one, Sloan quickly got on board.
Days of Our Lives spoilers say Sloan’s secret will blow up in her face down the road, so stay tuned!
