Days of Our Lives recaps for Tuesday, September 19 revealed accusations, paranoia and regrets. EJ DiMera (Dan Feurreriegel) was accused, Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) was paranoid, and Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) had regrets.
At the DiMera mansion, a very pregnant Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) snuck up on EJ as he was on a phone call. He was talking to the hit woman, who was still hospitalized, and Nicole overheard part of it. As soon as EJ noticed, he changed his conversation and wanted to know if she wanted to be a consultant.
Nicole said to tell her if he tried to kill Ava first; EJ looked shocked at the question. Meanwhile, Ava, in a hotel room in London was getting paranoid and thought there was a media blackout on their being fugitives-Harris Michaels (Steve Burton) tried to reassure her there wasn’t.
Back in Salem, Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams) and Wendy Shin (Victoria Grace) had a whispered conversation in a hallway at the hospital. Tripp said she was taking a big risk for someone she didn’t know; Wendy said she knew Ava’s son. Meanwhile at the Brady Pub, Belle Brady (Martha Madison) met with Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) who wanted her to help him and Sloan Petersen (Jessica Serfaty) adopt a baby.
Eric noticed Belle’s distraction and asked her what was wrong-she told him Shawn never came home last night. Meanwhile, upstairs in one of the bedrooms, Shawn woke up next to Talia Hunter (Aketra Sevillian) and said “Oh god…while she woke up and said “no, no, no, what, how”?
Shawn took all the blame for their sleeping together and apparently indulging in drunken sex, expressing his regrets, but Talia accepted blame as well.
Shawn worried Belle must think he’s dead in a ditch somewhere, and didn’t remember telling Talia they’d gotten into a fight, realizing he’d cheated on Belle. He couldn’t believe he’d told Talia so much of his personal business and about his and Belle’s problems.
Meanwhile, downstairs, Belle explained to Eric that Victor Kiriakis’ (John Aniston) affected Shawn badly, and he’d started drinking again, and she said things she shouldn’t have.
Eric said it had been going on a while, Belle admitted she’d went too far telling Shawn he should be in rehab; he threw her affair with EJ back at her.
Meanwhile, back at the DiMera mansion, EJ denied to Nicole that he’d have called a hit out on Ava, and Nicole asked him why he wouldn’t have?
EJ said Ava took the shot and then escaped with Harris, Nicole accused him of hiring the woman Ava shot to shoot Ava to avenge his mother’s murder.
Back in London, Ava continued to freak out and vented to Harris finding Susan had been their only hope, and here they were on another continent obeying a hallucination.
Ava told Harris she was clearly crazy and they needed to return to Bayview. In Salem at the police department, Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) thanked someone on the phone, then told Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) a neighbor of Tripp’s saw Ava and Harris.
They were outside his apartment building, and Jada handed Rafe a bunch of notes-he told her she was too tired and go home and sleep. Rafe promised her he’d call if he heard anything new on the case.
Back at the hospital, Wendy and Tripp continued their conversation and Wendy wanted Tripp to call her if he heard anything on the search for Susan.
Wendy was headed back to work, EJ’s office at DiMera-Tripp didn’t want her tangling with him. Wendy reiterated Tripp’s mother was in trouble and she would do some fishing, and EJ would hardly know she was there.
If Tripp didn’t want her involved, then he shouldn’t have made her care about him. Wendy then left, and Tripp got a call from Rafe, wanting him to come down to the police station.
Meanwhile, at the DiMera mansion, EJ and Nicole were still semi-arguing, him telling Nicole that Ava shot the “nurse” aka hit woman for no reason. EJ then told Nicole he’d went to offer his services to her as an attorney; Nicole retorted he hadn’t practiced law in years.
EJ then said any enemy of Ava’s is a friend of his, but Nicole couldn’t tell if he was lying out of habit or to protect the hit woman. EJ, acting a bit defensive, told her oh, come on, Nicole said, no, you come on; since she’s having his baby, didn’t she have a right to the truth?
Meanwhile, back at the pub Belle saw that Shawn had read her text messages, so at least she knew he was alive; but why was he ghosting her? Eric suggested maybe Shawn felt guilty for how he’d treated her, and was embarrassed.
Belle retorted, she had cheated on Shawn with EJ; Eric said they had been separated at the time. Belle worried Shawn hadn’t forgiven her and that may be part of why he was drinking-meanwhile, upstairs Talia thought Shawn should give himself a break.
Talia noted Shawn was obviously not over Belle and EJ’s tryst-Shawn feeling guilty over getting drunk and cheating on her; also feeling guilty over taking advantage of Talia.
Talia replied she was out of control too, being hurt over Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) choosing Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) over her. Talia felt she owed Belle so much, while Shawn said he’s Belle’s husband and she’s waiting for a call from him, although he didn’t know how to tell her what happened.
Shawn said he had to talk to Belle, and requested Talia not say anything about what happened to anyone until he figured things out. Talia agreed, and Shawn needed to get going, they wished each other luck and said their goodbyes-Talia looked upset when Shawn left.
Meanwhile, downstairs Belle and Eric were still talking-Eric told her to keep in mind that it was the alcohol talking, not Shawn; Belle said, unless he’s drinking again.
Eric made a suggestion that Belle should only talk to Shawn when he’s sober-and tell him that she’d only talk to him when he’s sober. Belle left the Pub, saying she needed some air, and in the meantime Shawn came downstairs, Eric wanting to know where the heck he came from?
Back in London, Harris told Ava she’d had a long flight to think about what could be going on-they’d gotten past Scotland Yard and no one from Salem was following them. She was the one who’d convinced him her visions of Susan weren’t hallucinations-Ava asked, but why her-Harris said he didn’t know but they need to keep up the search.
Ava then asked Harris why Susan didn’t give her an address, if he hadn’t figured out the “Big Smoke” meant London, they never would have come.
Harris tried to reassure Ava, telling her he had a good feeling about this-Ava told Harris ok, but Susan had better hurry up and give another sign. Otherwise, her baby boy would finish her off-meanwhile back in Salem, EJ was sorry for stonewalling Nicole, claiming it was to protect her.
Nicole didn’t believe him-and scoffed, saying it would be inconvenient were he to be in prison when the baby is born. EJ tried to convince Nicole he wouldn’t be going to jail, then Wendy knocked on the door.
Nicole said she’d go do that research while EJ told her not to freak out-then Nicole left. Wendy told EJ she needed to make sure she was on track about something they were doing.
Meanwhile, back at the Salem PD Rafe apologized for the inconvenience to Tripp, and said this shouldn’t take long-Tripp apologized for not being much help last night. Rafe hoped he could help again, saying he knew it must be tough not knowing where his mother is, but they knew she was alive and well at 9 PM.
An eyewitness had spotted her and Harris in the alley behind Tripp’s building, and when asked, he had to admit he had seen his mom since they last talked.
Tripp told Rafe when he got home, Ava had been there, but left-she’d came in through the fire escape, and Rafe said that must have been rough.
Rafe asked if Ava asked for Tripp’s help, and Tripp had told her he couldn’t help her so she left; then Rafe asked if he knew where they were-Tripp couldn’t say.
Tripp asked if he could leave then but Rafe said he wasn’t going anywhere, and he should think about the obstruction charges he might be facing.
Meanwhile, EJ looked at a lengthy report that Wendy wanted him to look at-she wanted him to see it because the plan would be expensive. An alert came on her phone and Wendy said Ava had escaped-EJ didn’t care, he wasn’t interested and told her to stop talking so he could read her report.
In London, Ava called out to Susan to give her another sign-but this time nothing happened; Harris suggested it was because Ava was tired.
Ava clapped back, telling Harris he could sleep because he wasn’t afraid of anything-Harris clapped back, telling Ava she’s a Vitali and she should start acting like one!
Ava, blindsided, gasped; Harris said she could use the bathroom first, and she stormed off, saying when she comes back out maybe he could stop sounding like a broken record!
Back in Salem at the Pub, Eric told Shawn Belle had just been there, Shawn confessed he was trying to figure out what he’d tell her. He said he’d run into Jada and she had told him he could crash there-Eric asked what about Talia, she lived upstairs too, as Talia hid upstairs but heard them!
Elsewhere, Nicole ran into Belle, and she asked her how Shawn was-Belle said he wasn’t in very good shape, and changed the subject to when Nicole’s baby was due. Nicole said she is due in January, and Belle mentioned how EJ must be excited too-Nicole replied yes, especially now that there were no uncertainties.
Nicole said she was sorry about Eric and Sloan and the miscarriage, and Belle revealed they were planning to adopt; Nicole was surprised.
Back inside the Pub, Shawn said Talia was at work-and he had drank too much and wanted to leave; Eric told him he needed to text Belle.
Shawn promised he would, and just then Talia came in, and she and Shawn both pretended to not know who she was-then his phone beeped and Shawn said it was Belle.
Shawn had to leave and as he left the Pub, Jada returned to the PD; she’d decided to check the alley behind Tripp’s building for herself, and had an envelope. Back at the DiMera mansion, EJ wanted time to think about Wendy’s proposal, and Wendy apologized for overstepping regarding Ava; EJ had a meeting and his mouse was malfunctioning.
When he left, Wendy noticed EJ had left his phone. Back at the Pub, Jada told Eric she was sorry about Sloan’s miscarriage, having heard about it. Eric appreciated what she’d done for Shawn-it was so cool she’d let him stay over; Jada said she was beat and headed upstairs.
Elsewhere, Belle and Nicole continued talking and Belle offered to tell Eric Nicole had asked about him – Nicole told her not to. In the meantime, Shawn showed up, and Nicole asked him how he was feeling, he said hung over! Belle wanted to know where Shawn had slept last night-meanwhile, back at the Pub Jada gave grief to Talia.
As Talia was making her bed, Jada entered and confronted her, saying she had to be kidding her-please tell her she didn’t sleep with Shawn Brady! Meanwhile, back at the Salem PD, Tripp thought Rafe was bluffing-and Rafe wasn’t. He gave him the envelope Jada found, with his and Wendy’s passports inside.
Back at EJ’s office, Wendy was trying to hack into EJ’s phone; he caught her and asked if he could help. Back in London, Ava came out of the bathroom only in one of Harris’ t shirts and stared at Harris, who was undressed down to his underwear.
