Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, January 6, reveals that Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) offered Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) a variety of hot teas and bonded with her after their day of ice skating with the kids.
Since Stephanie had a sore ankle, Chad offered to massage it for her and impressed Stephanie with his skillful hands. Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) also called and apologized for his earlier behavior, so Stephanie assured him it was forgotten and agreed to meet up for dinner.
Afterward on Friday’s Days episode, Stephanie and Alex had a meal at the Kiriakis mansion since the bistro was closed for renovations.
Alex wound up canoodling in front of the fire with Stephanie, who wasn’t looking forward to going home in the cold.
Once Alex suggested Stephanie should stay the night, she said she’d love to.
Meanwhile, Chad found Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) at the pub trying to convince Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) to head to the hospital.
Kate was angry and emotional since she didn’t want to go through that ordeal again, so she flat-out refused.
When Kate stood up on Friday’s DOOL show, she passed out in Chad’s arms.
Chad gently put Kate down on the floor and pointed out her pulse was weak.
Roman wasn’t willing to wait for an ambulance, so he took Kate to the hospital himself.
As for Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans), she grew concerned over her bloodwork before collapsing in Steve Johnson’s (Stephen Nichols) arms.
Kayla was admitted as a patient before Chad called to tell her about Kate’s imminent arrival.
Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder) got the news that Kate had fainted, so he rushed off to get ready for her.
Back with Chad on Friday’s Days episode, he tried to call Stephanie to let her know about Kayla’s hospitalization at Steve’s request.
Stephanie went in the bathroom at the Kiriakis mansion to freshen up before lovemaking, so Alex heard her phone vibrate nearby.
After Alex declined Chad’s call, he plopped back on the bed and waited for Stephanie to join him.
In Kate’s hospital room, she regained consciousness briefly, but it wasn’t long until she flatlined out of the blue.
Rex shocked Kate’s heart and tried to bring her back, but he ultimately called time of death at 8:02 p.m. despite Roman’s pleas to keep going.
Kate’s demise left Rex and Roman crushed as they embraced.
At the townhouse, Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and John Black (Drake Hogestyn) practiced a fake fight that included Marlena hurling a glass of water to drench John.
The goal was to pull off a convincing charade in front of Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) later so that John could earn her trust and find out what she was holding over Brady Black (Eric Martsolf).
Speaking of Brady, he ripped into Kristen over the missing orchid and assumed this must be some sort of trick.
Kristen swore on Rachel Black’s (Finley Rose Slater) life that she genuinely didn’t know where the orchid was and assumed someone must’ve taken it.
However, it didn’t make sense to Kristen since the tunnels were supposed to be secure due to all the construction going on.
Kristen felt confident the orchid must be in the house somewhere, so Brady hoped so for Kristen’s sake or else she’d never see Rachel again.
Harold the butler was the only one home and hadn’t seen the orchid. Kristen also found out the construction foreman ran a tight ship, so he didn’t believe any of his workers would steal from him.
Brady blamed Kristen for this mess since she could’ve just handed over the orchid to begin with.
If any of the women died, Brady felt their blood would be on Kristen’s hands.
Back at the townhouse, Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) showed up and admitted to kidnapping Rachel as part of a plot with Brady.
John worried this could all go sideways fast since Kristen was such a loose cannon.
Marlena also felt it was wrong to make any mother believe her child had been abducted, but Eric insisted it was the only way to neutralize Kristen.
After Eric explained the orchid blackmail scheme, John and Marlena were appalled.
Eric confessed that according to Kristen, all three women would need an additional shot and maybe a booster after that.
Once Marlena began sneezing again, John felt she should rest and grew concerned.
Brady and Kristen eventually showed up without the orchid, so Marlena made it clear that it’d be Kristen’s fault if Kate and Kayla didn’t make it.
Kristen assured Marlena this wasn’t her intention before John led Marlena to the bedroom.
Eric eventually brought Rachel in for a reunion with Kristen, so she happily embraced her daughter – though tension obviously remained with Brady.
After Steve got updates on Kristen having the orchid and losing it, he filled Kayla in on Friday’s Days episode. Steve said they’d figure out a way to make Kristen pay when Kayla was better.
Although Steve was hopeful about some serum showing up again, Kayla didn’t know how long they could wait and confessed she was scared.
Steve warned Kayla not to give up and felt all the women would be fine.
