Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that Gabi DiMera (Camila Banus) was denied bail thanks to EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel), who became the new district attorney and promptly resolved to take Gabi down for a crime she didn’t commit.
To be fair, there’s a hefty pile of evidence against Gabi, so she’s making this a piece of cake for the newly minted DA.
Of course, EJ has no way of knowing that Gabi is innocent, but it wouldn’t matter even if he did! It’s clear that EJ is determined to get revenge, so he made sure Gabi would be sent to Statesville to await trial.
Gabi shared a painful goodbye with Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) in her Days exit scenes on November 9, but now we have to consider what’s next.
Since Camila Banus chose to leave the show and Days insiders insist a recast hasn’t happened yet, Gabi’s fate is bleak. It sounds like EJ will eventually score an offscreen conviction that keeps Gabi locked up tight.
Right now, Gabi is clinging to hope that Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) can clear her name and that she’ll be able to reunite with Stefan on the outside.
Once Gabi is officially facing a lengthy prison sentence and all hope fades away, that could take a toll on her.
Gabi may decide she doesn’t have a future with Stefan and resolve not to hold him back.
Perhaps Gabi will send Stefan signed divorce papers and insist she wants to end their marriage.
After her conviction, Gabi may argue that it’s pointless for Stefan to put his life on hold any longer.
Maybe Gabi will write Stefan a letter and push him to move on with his life since their reunion just isn’t going to happen – at least not anytime soon.
Never say never on Camila Banus coming back to Days at some point, but Stefan could use his freedom in the meantime.
It’d open the door to more DOOL storylines if Stefan was single, so Gabi may push her husband away and ultimately make him her ex-husband instead.
