Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that Lauren Koslow (Kate Roberts Brady) is no longer on contract according to the show’s credits and confirmation from Jason47. Koslow had held a contract spot since the ‘90s, but she’s officially been dropped down to recurring at DOOL.
Of course, many viewers might be wondering what this means for Kate’s future in Salem. There’s no sign of Kate going anywhere, so there’s no need to worry about Koslow hitting the exit door anytime soon.
Plenty of actors stay on recurring permanently, so that’s important to keep in mind. Jason47 assured a worried fan that Koslow hadn’t left Days and simply wasn’t on contract, so Kate will still be in town.
That said, Kate isn’t driving the story much anymore, so Koslow is now a recurring player and will inevitably have reduced airtime.
This change honestly isn’t all that surprising considering how Days has used Kate lately. It feels like Kate’s been cast aside and become a bit of an afterthought in the episodes she’s involved in.
Kate has only been popping up for tiny scenes with just a few lines, so it feels like they’ve been trying to burn through her guaranteed episodes with fairly pointless conversations.
Now that Koslow is on recurring, let’s hope Days will make the most of her appearances and offer up a little less filler.
Regardless, it’s good to know that Kate will remain in Salem, even if she’s no longer on contract. Kate is a huge part of the show’s history, so many of us are pleased that Lauren Koslow and her character will still be around.
