Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, December 8, reveals that Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) caught EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) in a distracted moment and realized he was thinking about his deceased baby.
Johnny offered support and learned that Nicole Walker-DiMera (Arianne Zucker) had been acting erratic, so Nicole flipped out when she overheard. Although Nicole accused EJ of thinking she was crazy, he privately assured her that he simply thought she was grieving.
EJ eventually suggested the idea of trying again and having another child, but Nicole snapped that it was over for her forever. If EJ couldn’t accept that she wasn’t having his baby, Nicole didn’t know where they went from here.
EJ insisted he was just trying to make Nicole feel better and knew that their lives were already full.
Soon after, Nicole calmed down as they exchanged love declarations. When EJ suggested taking Nicole out for her favorite meal later, she decided that’d be nice.
In the town square on Friday’s Days episode, Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) was sorry for thinking Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) had a crush on Johnny and put an extra scone in her Sweet Bits bag as an apology.
Since Chanel thought Holly was dating Tate Black (Jamie Martin Mann), she insisted she was happy for them. Talk turned to Nicole and what she was going through, so Holly acknowledged that it was rough.
After Holly took off, Johnny joined Chanel and brought her up to speed on all the sadness at the DiMera mansion. Chanel thought Johnny and Holly could be there for each other, so Johnny asked if she’d be OK with that.
Now that Chanel’s suspicions about Holly’s crush had seemingly been proven wrong, she seemed fine with Johnny and Holly spending time together.
Chanel kissed Johnny to lift his spirits before they made plans for next weekend. That’s when their “would-be anniversary” was coming up, so Johnny dropped some hints about the surprise that was in store.
At the pub on Friday’s DOOL show, Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) was on his way to meet his new grandson when Tate stopped him to ask about a night off. Roman assumed this was for a date with Holly since Johnny told him that Tate was dating her.
Tate suggested that he wanted to keep his dating life on the DL since Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) disapproved, so Roman said the secret was safe with him.
Once Holly arrived later and revealed that she was mad at Tate, she called him out for taking advantage of the situation to fake date her.
Tate offered to pretend they had to break up because of Brady, but she warned him not to since now Chanel wasn’t suspicious and had backed off.
Holly wanted Tate to help her make sure Chanel never made it to the “gag-iversary” that Johnny had asked her to help plan.
Since that was a big ask, Tate wanted something in return and pushed Holly to let him take her on a date – a real one!
At home, Sloan Petersen-Brady (Jessica Serfaty) whipped up some cookies and juggled Mommy duty with some work on her laptop. Eric was impressed and loved seeing this motherly side of Sloan.
Once Roman came over, he was touched to learn the baby’s name was Jude Roman Brady. Roman held his namesake and ultimately commented on the fact that Eric looked like Jude when he was a newborn.
After Roman suggested Jude and Eric had similar eyes, he assumed he could be imagining the family resemblance.
Roman knew he’d been tough on Sloan, but he sang a different tune now that she was married to Eric and building a family with him. Sloan made Eric happy, so Roman appreciated that.
After Roman left on Friday’s Days episode, Eric listened to a voicemail from the attorney who’d been working with Melinda Trask (Tina Huang).
The message indicated that the attorney was sorry about the adoption falling through, so Eric expressed confusion to Sloan and put her on the spot.
At Statesville, Dimitri von Leuschner (Peter Porte) gave Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) updates on how and why Sloan ended up passing off Nicole’s baby as her adopted son.
Leo wasn’t sure he could sit on a secret this huge, but Dimitri urged him to blackmail Sloan and make the most of the freedom he’d been given.
Dimitri wasn’t sure when he’d see Leo again and kissed him goodbye, but Leo vowed that he’d be back to visit him. Even so, Dimitri watched Leo walk away longingly and hoped his love would have a nice life.
Back at the DiMera mansion on Friday’s Days episode, Nicole answered the door to Leo and looked surprised to see him.
