Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, July 7, reveals that Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) cried down on the docks in front of Abe Carver’s (James Reynolds) memorial as he said goodbye to his friend.
At the pub, Belle Brady (Martha Madison) met up with Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) for lunch and was concerned about him drinking a beer while on duty. Shawn got fed up and walked out, so Roman came along and questioned Belle about what was wrong.
Meanwhile, Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus) told EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) and Kate Roberts Brady (Lauren Koslow) that Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) ambushed her from behind and handcuffed her to Megan DiMera’s (Miranda Wilson) hospital bed.
Dr. Rolf whisked Megan away and mentioned something about a submarine, so EJ headed down to the pier to see if he could catch up with them.
On Friday’s Days episode, Gabi pushed Kate to call the cops to undo her handcuffs and quizzed Kate about what dog she had in this Megan fight.
When Shawn showed up, he asked which idiot let Megan escape and got updates from Gabi as he freed her from the handcuffs she’d been trapped in.
Shawn then headed down to the docks, but Kate thought he was the idiot if he actually thought Megan would still be there.
Back at Abe’s memorial site on Friday’s Days episode, Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) brought flowers before Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) appeared and gave her a comforting hug.
EJ spotted the embrace before Nicole broke apart from Eric and found out about Megan’s getaway. EJ also mentioned how he was flying the specialist back in since he wanted to know everything he could about bringing their baby safely into the world.
Eric glared over EJ and Nicole’s romantic moment before they headed home. Nicole assured EJ that the hug he saw earlier was just about Eric consoling her over Abe, but EJ insisted there was no need to explain.
EJ then made it clear that from now on, Nicole and that precious baby she was carrying would be his priority.
After Shawn called Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) with news on Megan’s escape, he pulled out a bottle of beer that was covered in a brown paper bag and started drinking.
In Gwen Rizczech’s (Emily O’Brien) suite, Dimitri von Leuschner (Peter Porte) put the ring on Gwen’s finger and made love to her as they celebrated their engagement.
Dimitri suggested going down to the courthouse and getting married right now, but Gwen was hoping for something more romantic.
However, Dimitri admitted that he’d made a promise to himself that he’d get married before his 40th birthday at the end of the month.
Gwen asked why, but Dimitri just acted like it was a big milestone and the timing was right for him to be more mature as well as settled. Dimitri claimed he wanted to be the man Gwen deserved, so she got on board with having their wedding before his birthday.
At the DiMera mansion on Friday’s DOOL show, Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) threatened to call the cops on Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) for trying to rob them, but he insisted he was trying to get the goods on Dimitri.
Kristen thought it was presumptuous to assume Dimitri’s proposal wasn’t real, but she had a couple flashbacks about Dimitri using Gwen and marrying for richer, not poorer.
After Kristen admitted there could be some truth to Leo’s fears, she acted like she didn’t owe Gwen any favors. It was Gwen who still owed Kristen for the pardon, but Leo said Kristen owed him for freeing her from the secret room.
Nevertheless, Kristen refused to divulge anything more, so Leo pretended to storm out. After Leo slammed the front door, he secretly went upstairs to snoop in Dimitri’s room.
That’s where Leo found Dimitri’s inheritance paperwork and realized why he needed to marry Gwen in a hurry.
When Dimitri returned to his room, Leo confronted him about the inheritance terms and acted like there was nothing Dimitri could do to stop him from telling Gwen the truth.
Suddenly, Dimitri pulled Leo into a kiss and caught him off guard on Friday’s Days episode.
Back with Kate, she spread the word to Belle and Roman about Megan’s surprise escape from the hospital.
Gwen also crossed paths with Kristen in the town square, so she admitted she was engaged and showed off her new ring.
