Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, August 31, reveals that Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) was forced to think fast with Gwen von Leuschner (Emily O’Brien), who demanded to know why Kristen assumed she’d be angry with Dimitri von Leuschner (Peter Porte) for telling her “everything.”
Kristen acted like they were partnering up with Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn), but Gwen insisted she was confused instead of furious. Gwen didn’t see why Chad would agree to team up with Dimitri and Kristen, especially now that he was working at Titan.
However, Kristen did her best to convince Gwen before she went upstairs to nap due to her jet lag.
Meanwhile, Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) kept watch outside Gwen and Dimitri’s room while Gabi DiMera (Camila Banus) snooped inside. When Gwen appeared outside the door, Stefan kept trying to distract her and eventually said she couldn’t go in.
Gwen wondered why not, so Stefan claimed it was because Harold was busy unpacking. Since Gwen was already annoyed over Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) crashing her honeymoon, she filled Stefan in on that and eventually got him to let her pass.
Once Gwen opened the door, she found Gabi placing rose petals on the bed. Gabi acted like she was trying to do a nice thing for the newlyweds, but Gwen knew she must’ve been snooping and kicked her out along with Stefan.
Afterward, Gabi privately showed Stefan some paperwork she found before Gwen’s arrival. It indicated that Dimitri booked a separate room on another floor at the honeymoon hotel, so Gabi assumed it was for the woman he was having an affair with.
Stefan grinned as he put the puzzle pieces together and realized Leo was Dimitri’s sidepiece, so he happily clued Gabi in.
In Leo’s suite, he convinced a skeptical Dimitri that he could dress in drag and pretend to be Gwen for a meeting with Elliot Roth (Darren Richardson).
While Dimitri took a phone call from Kristen, Leo donned some of Gwen’s clothes along with a wig and some makeup.
Next on Thursday’s Days episode, Leo accompanied Dimitri to Elliot’s room, where they tried to sell him on their “made-in-heaven” love story.
“Gwen” spoke with a British accent and talked about about the obstacles they’d overcome to be together. Although “Gwen” felt like Dimitri was a wonderful man and the perfect husband, Mr. Roth called out Leo for not being the real Gwen.
It turns out Mr. Roth had done his research – not to mention he’d been to a few drag shows with his husband. Mr. Roth said that Leo was good, but he wasn’t THAT good!
After Mr. Roth pointed out that Leo and Dimitri were clearly in love, he admitted he was on their side. Mr. Roth acknowledged that this archaic, homophobic codicil was standing in the way of Dimitri loving Leo openly.
Although Mr. Roth agreed to cover for Dimitri and handed over the first installment of his inheritance, he made it clear that others might not support his decision.
Mr. Roth also warned that Dimitri would have to keep his romance with Leo quiet, but he hoped that might change someday. Leo planted a big kiss on Dimitri since they were still behind closed doors with supportive Mr. Roth.
At home on Thursday’s DOOL show, Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) was distracted as she flashed back to Philip Kiriakis’ (John-Paul Lavoisier) return and Brady Black’s (Eric Martsolf) enraged reaction.
Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) noticed Chloe seemed distant, but she suggested he should head to the office and let her catch up with him later.
After Xander sensed that Chloe was trying to get rid of him, he heard a loud noise coming from her bedroom. Xander thought Chloe must be hiding Brady in there, but she urged Philip to reveal himself instead.
Once Philip explained the whole ugly story of framing Brady for causing his fake demise, Xander forgave Chloe for deceiving him.
Xander also marveled over Philip risking everything to come back for Victor Kiriakis’ (John Aniston) funeral, but Philip admitted he was sick of hiding.
At the pub on Thursday’s Days episode, Brady arrived for a meeting with Belle Black Brady (Martha Madison), who asked him not to press charges against Philip.
Belle also gave Brady updates on Shawn’s 24-hour psychiatric hold and everything he was dealing with, so he asked if there was anything he could do. All Belle needed from Brady right now was for him to not pursue this Philip case.
When Kristen walked in, Brady bickered with her and warned that she shouldn’t get used to having custody of Rachel Black (Finley Rose Slater). Kristen acted like the judge made the right call, especially considering what Brady was accused of doing to Philip.
Once Kristen was gone on Thursday’s Days episode, Brady decided he wouldn’t press charges against Philip because of Victor, Belle and Chloe. Just having Philip come forward and clear him would accomplish what Brady wanted with the judge.
Philip was thrilled once Chloe got the news from Belle and was ready to get his life back. After Philip thanked Chloe for her help, he congratulated Xander on the engagement again and warned him to be good to Chloe.
Days of Our Lives spoilers say Xander and Chloe’s relationship is doomed, but it was nice of Philip to wish them well anyway! CDL will have other fantastic Days of Our Lives spoilers, news and updates, so make us your one-stop DOOL source.
