Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Tuesday, September 5, reveals that Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) filled Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) in on Philip Kiriakis’ (John-Paul Lavoisier) survival along with the fact that he framed Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) and landed in a mental institution.
Since Philip was better now, Nicole thought that was great since Chloe didn’t have to marry Xander Cook (Paul Telfer). As Nicole pushed Chloe to reunite with Philip, she acted like you never really get over your first love.
Chloe reminded Nicole that she could say the same thing about her relationship with Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan), so they ended up agreeing not to interfere in each other’s love lives in the end. Nicole and Chloe ultimately shook on the pact in Tuesday’s Days episode.
At the hospital, Sloan Petersen (Jessica Serfaty) insisted she had something to tell Eric, but then she said she was so sorry about the baby.
Sloan really wanted to give Eric a child, but he argued that this wasn’t her fault and assured her that they still had each other.
Since Sloan wanted to take a walk and clear her head after her hospital release, Eric agreed to meet up with her at the pub later.
In the park, EJ spoke with a hitwoman named Joyce (Sarafina King), who assured him that she’d take out Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) and that it wouldn’t be traced back to him.
Joyce was surprised since she didn’t think EJ did this kind of thing anymore, but he suggested this was an exception since it was personal.
After EJ decided he didn’t want the details, he gave Joyce a big envelope full of money and told her to make sure Xander followed Ava to the grave.
Afterward, Sloan came along and found EJ talking to Susan Banks’ (Stacy Haiduk) picture on his phone. Although Sloan understood the desire to avenge a parent, she also hinted about it not ending well.
EJ offered Sloan condolences over the loss of her baby before assuming that the baby he was having with Nicole poured salt in the wound for Eric. That left Sloan irritated, so she acted like EJ didn’t mean his condolences at all.
EJ insisted he did, but he also hinted that maybe being a father just wasn’t in the cards for Eric. Sloan argued that maybe it was and looked smug about it, so EJ hoped she was right and that she’d be a mother, too.
Outside the pub on Tuesday’s DOOL show, Theresa Donovan (Jen Lilley) clashed with Xander and was appalled to learn he’d somehow convinced Chloe to marry him. As the argument escalated, Xander yanked Theresa’s arm until Eric came over to intervene.
Once Eric put a stop to the manhandling and got Xander to leave, Theresa thanked her cousin and said she was sorry since she heard about the miscarriage. Theresa also felt that any kid would be lucky to have Eric as a father and gave him a hug.
Although Theresa briefly hinted that maybe Eric could put in a good word for her with Brady, she eventually decided she could handle this herself.
Theresa nearly called Brady before deciding against it to avoid looking too desperate on day one. That said, Theresa refused to give up on Brady since she felt they belonged together.
Inside the pub, Sloan joined Eric at a table and seemed excited as she asked what he’d say to the idea of them adopting a baby.
At the Kiriakis mansion on Tuesday’s Days episode, Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder) told Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) that he thought they should marry before the baby arrived.
Sarah hesitated, but she claimed it was because she didn’t feel right about marrying before Victor Kiriakis’ (John Aniston) funeral.
Once Philip showed up, he gave Sarah and Rex updates on his freedom since Brady let him off the hook.
Philip could see that Sarah was pregnant and asked who the father was, so Rex nervously acted like it was him and revealed that he was marrying Sarah.
In a moment alone with Rex, Philip confessed that although his feet were firmly planted in reality now, he was still head-over-heels-in-love with Chloe.
Rex didn’t want to see Philip do anything to jeopardize his recovery, but Philip insisted he wouldn’t try to break up Xander and Chloe. Rex also noted that worked out well for Rex since Xander wouldn’t be free to go after Sarah.
After Philip left, Sarah reconvened with Rex, who talked about how Xander marrying Chloe was the best thing for everyone.
In the town square, Philip ran into Chloe and thanked her for sticking up for him with Brady. Xander came along to steal Chloe away for dinner, so Philip looked frustrated over her being with someone he viewed as a creep.
When EJ joined Nicole at the DiMera mansion, he seemed a bit distracted by his phone. EJ assured Nicole that he was just waiting on news from an associate to confirm that she’d closed a deal.
At Bayview, Ava assured Harris that Susan was alive since she saw Susan get out of the car before it blew up. Although Ava was certain about that, she claimed to have no clue where Susan went or where she’d been all this time.
Next, Joyce the hitwoman posed as a Bayview staff member and acted like she was there to give Ava her new medication. Ava was suspicious since she didn’t normally get injections, so Harris encouraged her to check with her doctor over the phone first.
Before Ava could seek confirmation, Joyce whipped out a gun and decided they’d have to do this the hard way – which meant both Ava and Harris were going down.
Harris eventually lunged at Joyce, who tried to choke him while Ava picked up the gun and pointed it. A “pow” rang out as Tuesday’s Days episode came to an end.
