Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Thursday, January 12 Recap – Philip’s Sanitarium Secret Leaks – No Funeral for Kate – Alex’s Guilt

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, January 12, reveals that Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) talked to Kate Roberts Brady’s (Lauren Koslow) urn since she wanted to be cremated. That brought Roman some comfort, though he admitted to Abe Carver (James Reynolds) and Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) that Kate’s death didn’t feel real yet.

Kate didn’t want a funeral, but Roman suggested it felt good to have her urn nearby. After Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) consoled Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) in Kayla Johnson’s (Mary Beth Evans) office, she stopped by the pub for takeout and to offer her condolences to Roman.

Abe also made his way to Kayla’s office and offered Steve some support. Steve took a moment to reflect on his loss and all the memories of Kayla that were left behind, so he sobbed over a yellow rose that was pressed in a book.

At Statesville, Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder) visited Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) to see how he was holding up and talk about the family members that had been told about Kate’s death.

Lucas admitted Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) was alive in a mental institution, so he urged his brother to get the sanitarium details from Roman and break the news to Philip gently.

Rex also got updates on Lucas attacking Orpheus (George DelHoyo), who offered some booze. Lucas eventually gave the bottle to Rex, who warned the guard not to let Orpheus hand over any more or else he’d tell the warden.

Back at the pub on Thursday’s Days episode, Rex told Roman that he knew the truth about Philip and vowed to go to the sanitarium to reveal Kate’s fate.

At the Kiriakis mansion, Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) came clean to Sonny Kiriakis (Zach Tinker) about turning Stephanie Johnson’s (Abigail Klein) phone off and making it so she missed her chance to say goodbye to Kayla.

On Thursday’s DOOL show, Alex explained how Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) had been a third wheel and wished he’d known that Chad was calling about something so serious.

The guilt was eating away at Alex, so Sonny felt that his brother needed to confess to Stephanie. Alex feared Stephanie would hate him and end things if he did, but Sonny thought it was important to have a relationship built on honesty.

At home on Thursday’s Days episode, Stephanie opened the door to Chad, who brought a card the kids made for her. Stephanie cried over what was written inside and accepted Chad’s comforting embrace.

Chad related to Stephanie through his experience with losing Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) so suddenly and how he wished things had been different.

Stephanie was grateful for Chad’s support, but she couldn’t stop dwelling on her phone being turned off. Although Stephanie guessed she must’ve done it, she found it so strange since she almost never did.

Stephanie was distraught over not being able to tell Kayla she was a great mom and hold her one last time before her demise. Chad assured Stephanie it wasn’t her fault and vowed to be there if she ever needed to talk.

Once Stephanie was alone on Thursday’s Days episode, she thought back to going in the bathroom while Alex stayed behind in the bedroom that night.

When Alex stopped by to see how Stephanie was doing, she had an important question for him. Alex seemed nervous as Stephanie asked if he turned her phone off.

In the town square, Sonny bumped into Chad and said he was sorry about Kate. Chad was sorry about Kayla as well and admitted that Stephanie was blaming herself over the phone situation, so Sonny looked uneasy about what he knew.

Days of Our Lives spoilers say Stephanie’s on the verge of learning the truth, so stay tuned to DOOL. CDL will have all the hottest Days of Our Lives spoilers, updates and news you need, so check back often.
