Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, January 5, reveals that John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) enjoyed a staycation at the Salem Inn, but they remained concerned about Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) and the hold Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) had on him.
Marlena and John received some troubling updates from Brady, who wanted them to stay out of the townhouse a bit longer.
John wound up getting frisky with Marlena in bed, but he ruined the mood by sneezing due to the massage oil and had a good laugh about it.
At the townhouse, Kristen had a total meltdown over Rachel Black’s (Finley Rose Slater) kidnapping and suggested Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) might’ve gone after her again.
Brady pushed Kristen to calm down and get some rest, so he finally convinced her to try to sleep in the bedroom.
Meanwhile, Rachel missed her parents and wanted to go home.
At Sloan Petersen’s (Jessica Serfaty) place on Thursday’s Days episode, Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) said Rachel couldn’t see Kristen and Brady since they were both sick.
That news left Rachel excited since she was sure it meant Brady and Kristen must’ve kissed at midnight.
Sloan did a silly makeover on Eric to entertain Rachel and privately warned him this plan had better be over today.
Back with Brady, he called Eric and admitted he didn’t think Kristen was going to get any more desperate.
Brady was ready to reveal that he was behind the kidnapping, but he knew Kristen was going to flip and had to find the right moment to drop the bomb.
Kristen overheard behind Brady and blew her top over him snatching Rachel.
That led to a massive argument about what Brady put Kristen through, but he felt she was the one who’d started this when she used the orchid as leverage.
Kristen warned she could let Marlena, Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) and Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) die, but Brady said she’d never see Rachel again if she did.
Kristen finally caved in and agreed to take Brady to the orchid, so they made their way to the DiMera mansion.
Down in the secret room on Thursday’s Days episode, Kristen opened a cabinet where the orchid had previously been.
With Brady standing next to her, Kristen admitted that the orchid was gone!
At the townhouse again, John and Marlena were perplexed when they came home to find the place empty.
Marlena also sneezed, but she assumed it was due to the massage oil from earlier.
At the pub on Thursday’s DOOL show, Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) had a bit of a hangover, but she felt fine other than that.
Even so, Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder) had alarming news since Kate’s bloodwork showed abnormalities that could point to a relapse.
Rex eventually took blood from Kayla at the hospital to see if her blood had the same abnormalities – and sure enough, it did.
Kayla grew worried about relapsing as she sneezed, which was the first warning sign last time.
Kate sneezed as well when she met back up with Roman Brady (Josh Taylor), so Days offered good reasons to be concerned about all the women involved here.
