Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Tuesday, January 24, reveals that Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) entered the pearly gates and found Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk), who claimed she was assigned to help her transition to the afterlife.
Marlena realized she was dead, so she asked about Kate Roberts Brady (Lauren Koslow) and Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans).
Susan scoffed at the idea of Kate ending up in heaven, but Marlena hoped she could at least find Kayla.
However, Susan acted rather suspicious and couldn’t find Kayla’s name in the big book.
Once Susan suggested it took some time for paperwork to get processed, she handed Marlena a welcome mocktail and said she should get some rest.
Susan directed Marlena to enter another set of doors, but then her eyes turned yellow as she let out a sinister laugh.
It became apparent that the devil was posing as Susan, so the goal was seemingly to trick Marlena into going to hell.
After drinking heavily at the pub on Tuesday’s Days episode, Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) ended up at Sloan Petersen’s (Jessica Serfaty) place and got her to distract him by sleeping together.
Sloan connected with Eric over their dead moms and admitted she wasn’t used to feeling needed like this.
Meanwhile, Abe Carver (James Reynolds) ran into Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) at the hospital and offered comfort over Marlena’s death.
Once Allie explained that John Black (Drake Hogestyn) was on the roof, Abe went up to check on him.
John struggled over the loss and didn’t believe he’d ever get past this.
Although Abe urged John to come home with him tonight, John felt that just mean postponing the inevitable and wanted to go back to the townhouse so he could fell Marlena’s presence.
After Allie ran into Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) in the town square, he consoled her over Marlena’s demise and took her home.
Once they arrived on Tuesday’s DOOL show, Allie chugged a beer and stopped Alex from calling Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) before explaining her almost kiss with Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman).
Alex understood why Allie was upset, but he also thought Allie had enough problems and should maybe try trusting Chanel as well as Johnny.
After Alex said he spoke from personal experience, he offered updates on the phone sabotage and how he wrecked things with Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein).
Allie pointed out that she’d be mad in Stephanie’s shoes, but she’d ultimately work it out with him.
Alex wondered why Allie felt that way, so she admitted it was because she knew he’d never deliberately keep Stephanie from saying goodbye to dying Kayla.
Alex made a stupid mistake, but Allie felt he deserved another chance.
Since Allie was the first person who had his back, Alex was grateful and said she’d given him some hope.
At home on Tuesday’s Days episode, Stephanie opened the door to Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) who handed over some dinner to pop in the oven and expressed her condolences.
Paulina also wanted Stephanie’s help now that Sloan had filed a civil suit.
Since Paulina assumed Stephanie was still dating Alex, she hoped he could serve as someone on the inside and find out Sloan’s strategy.
Stephanie confessed that they split up and explained why, so Paulina was appalled over the news of Alex’s jealous move.
Nevertheless, Paulina pushed Stephanie to focus on the good times with Kayla instead of the fact that she didn’t get to say goodbye.
As for Sloan, Paulina still hoped for Stephanie’s help and pointed out that cases like this were won in the court of public opinion.
Stephanie assured Paulina that she’d work on spinning things and brainstormed ways to deal with Sloan’s strategy once Paulina was gone.
Once Stephanie listened to Alex’s voicemail asking for another chance, she seemed sad all over again.
In the park, Johnny wanted to find Allie and let her vent to him, but Chanel felt she should be the one to handle this.
Chanel opted to give Allie a little more time to cool off and comforted Johnny over the loss of Marlena with a hug.
Afterward on Tuesday’s Days episode, Chanel came home to find Allie drinking on the sofa with Alex.
It clearly bothered Chanel, but Allie acted like it was the same as Chanel lending a sympathetic ear to Johnny.
Allie sarcastically suggested another threesome since Chanel was bored with her, but Chanel said that wasn’t true.
Chanel also urged Allie not to put Alex in the middle of this, so Allie decided to go sleep in Henry Horton’s (Clyde and Nash Gunderson) room since he was off with a babysitter tonight.
