Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Wednesday, January 4 Recap – Gwen Pressured to Betray Xander – Rafe Signs Divorce Papers

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, January 4, reveals that Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) wondered if maybe Sarah Cook (Linsey Godfrey) was overreacting with her divorce declaration. However, Sarah thought she was underreacting considering all the horrible things Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) had done.

Maggie just didn’t want to see Sarah rush into anything and make a choice she couldn’t undo.

Although Maggie thought Sarah should take some time to decide, she understood if her daughter needed to divorce Xander due to lack of trust.

In Xander’s motel room on Wednesday’s Days episode, Bonnie Kiriakis (Judi Evans) and Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) ripped into him for the kidnapping drama and all his deception.

Justin and Bonnie vowed to take the news of Xander’s guilt to the cops before heading out.

Sarah arrived soon after, so Xander asked if she’d corroborate Bonnie and Justin’s story.

Although Sarah said she couldn’t lie to the cops, Xander pointed out that Sarah could say nothing and didn’t have to testify since they were married.

Sarah admitted she no longer trusted Xander and felt that would never change. Despite Xander’s desperate pleas, Sarah insisted she was filing for divorce.

At the Salem PD on Wednesday’s DOOL episode, Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) received the divorce papers that his attorney sent over.

Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) comforted Rafe as he struggled to sign, but he ultimately put his signature down and felt better getting it over with.

Once Bonnie and Justin showed up, they filled Rafe and Jada in on the Xander kidnapper story.

Bonnie was frustrated since Jada and Rafe couldn’t make an arrest without definitive evidence, but they assured her that they’d work on building a case.

At the Horton house on Wednesday’s Days episode, Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) got updates from Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart), who revealed that Sarah blabbed to Maggie, Bonnie and Justin.

Gwen wanted to warn Xander over the phone, but Leo stopped her and insisted she should stay away from him.

Leo was concerned about Xander dragging Gwen down with him, especially since Sarah had a theory about Gwen posing as the clown in the bodysuit.

Of course, Leo didn’t want the truth to come out either.

Since Leo was actually the fake clown kidnapper, he worried about losing his fresh start and Sonny Kiriakis’ (Zach Tinker) newfound trust.

Jada and Rafe eventually arrived with questions for Gwen, who claimed she knew nothing about the kidnapping incident.

Rafe pushed Gwen to drop the innocent act and acted like things would go better for Gwen if she helped them put Xander away.

Gwen continued to play dumb and thought she should contact an attorney before talking to them any further.

Rafe made it clear that Gwen shouldn’t wait too long to come forward with information and left with Jada.

Once they were alone, Leo pointed out that Gwen had been risking everything for Xander when he was pining for Sarah.

Although Leo couldn’t believe he was agreeing with the cops, he asked why Gwen should suffer for what Xander did.

In the park on Wednesday’s Days episode, Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) told Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) that she wasn’t his property and added that who she spent her time with was up to her.

Alex was apologetic about overstepping, but he felt Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) was taking advantage of the situation and hoping for more than friendship with Stephanie.

Alex also thought maybe Stephanie was unintentionally leading Chad on, but she stood her ground on just being friends with Chad and rejoined the kids on the ice-skating rink in a huff.

Afterward, Chad felt guilty about causing issues for Stephanie and Alex.

Nevertheless, Stephanie assured Chad that she liked hanging out with him as well as Thomas DiMera (Cary Christopher) and Charlotte DiMera (Autumn Gendron).

Once Stephanie suggested Alex would have to deal with that, she pointed out she was just friends with Chad – though he felt they were more.

Chad insisted they were family and said he’d always be connected to Stephanie, so he worried that was why Alex felt threatened.

Stephanie told Chad to let her worry about Alex and not give it another thought, so he said he wouldn’t.

Days of Our Lives spoilers say Alex and Stephanie’s romance will face more bumps in the road, so stay tuned to DOOL.
