Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Will Horton’s (Chandler Massey) latest job offer could help him solve a mystery. DOOL fans know Will’s project got the greenlight, but that means he’ll have to spend multiple months in New Zealand if he moves forward with it.
However, this is Will’s dream come true – and he has Sonny Kiriakis’ (Zach Tinker) support on making it happen.
It seems likely Will’s going to end up on set in New Zealand soon, but what we want to focus on for a moment is the location itself.
Days writers could’ve sent Will anywhere for work, but they specifically chose to have the movie shoot in New Zealand.
Could there be some significance to that, especially since we know some other DOOL characters who live there?
Back when Evan Frears (Brock Kelly) was planning to leave town with little Maddox Frears – who was formerly known as Shawn Christian Brady – he wanted to move to New Zealand.
That’s where Zoey Burge (Alyshia Ochse) resides with David Ridgeway (Kyler Ends), who is Evan’s other son.
Of course, when Days sends characters out of town to the same place, they tend to make offscreen connections – like JJ Deveraux (Casey Moss), Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson) and Claire Brady (Isabel Durant) all working together in Johannesburg.
If they’re sending Will to New Zealand, it’s reasonable to think he might cross paths with Zoey while he’s there.
Zoey might even end up working with Will and get the ball rolling on a major discovery.
Evan was Sonny’s nightmare ex, so there’s a link to explore.
There’d be a lot for Will and Evan’s sister to talk about, especially since Zoey presumably hasn’t heard from her brother in quite some time.
Evan was supposed to take Maddox to Chicago with him and work a houseboat for a while.
Once Evan earned enough money to finish the trip, he was going to build a new life in New Zealand so he could be close to David.
Could Zoey reveal to Will that Evan and Maddox dropped off the map completely?
It could leave Zoey confused and perhaps curious if Sonny has heard from Evan.
This is the kind of thing that could draw out Will’s reporter instincts and leave him with a Days mystery to solve.
It could lead to Will’s investigation and perhaps the shocker of Jan Spears (Heather Lindell) being on the run with the baby.
Jan stole “Shawn Christian” back, knocked Evan into the harbor and has been hiding who knows where since then.
Will could potentially put some clues together and realize Jan must have the kid, so he could get Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) involved in cracking the rest of the case.
Even though Maddox isn’t Shawn’s biological child, he grew to care about him and would certainly want to keep him out of harm’s way.
Shawn may battle concerns when it comes to Maddox growing up with only lunatic Jan to care for him and vow to get some answers!
Maybe Will’s news could lead to Shawn getting updates on Jan’s hideout and hopefully tracking her down.
