In tonight’s DDWTD episode, the kids needed to burn off some energy. Their parents thought it was the best time to have a bike day. They all got their bikes and skooters and they went over to GG’s house. They couldn’t leave out GG. The family matriarch love spending time with her grandbabies.
The kids loved spending time with her. There was a little bit of an issue when the youngest five got jealous of the older kids. They asked their parents if they could ride the bikes too. Deon hasn’t trained them to ride bikes jus yet and so he promised to teach them back at the house. And their mom Karen made sure that they all promised to be safe when their dad starts teaching them.
Karen also got help from the kids to have a little fashion show. She was about to launch her children’s clothing line. She wanted to have a fashion show to highlight her clothes. She thought her eldest would also help out, but Darian changed her mind about being in the fashion show.
Darian was feeling a little self-conscious. She has eczema. It flares up to the point it leaves scars all over her body. Including her face. She hated how she looked. She didn’t want anyone else to see her. She confessed to her mom about how much she hates seeing herself in her mirror.
Karen understood where she was coming from because she also had that issue growing up. She knew that she herself eventually grew to love and accept herself. She wanted to be there for Darian to help Darian see that about herself as well. Karen sees a beautiful girl when she looks at her eldest. She wants Darian to see that, too. Darian doesn’t right now because she was still just a kid. Every problem looked to be a big thing at her age. She’ll soon grow out of it with the love and support of her family.
Darian may not want to be in the fashion show only she still showed up to support her family. She just did it in other ways. She helped her dad trained the youngest five in riding a bike. They ran into problems with Dawsyn. Dawsyn was terrified that they were going to let go and that she would fall. They reassured her that she wouldn’t fall, but she wouldn’t listen to them. She eventually walked off because she thought the whole thing was too scary for her. Just because she was a triplet doesn’t mean they’re all the same. Dawsyn wasn’t ready now and so Deon will go back to her when she is ready.
Deon managed to get his hands on a DNA test. He gave it to his mom and she handed it over to Amani. Amani might be a Derrico. He might be the son of Deon’s late brother, Chris. Chris sadly passed away a few years back. He died never knowing that there a chance he could be a dad. Amani’s mother hadn’t been able to track him down because all she remembered about him was that he was a Derrico. Amani was the one who looked up the name “Derrico” and he eventually found Deon and his family.
The family has already lost Chris. They couldn’t bring themselves to welcome Amani into their family if there’s a chance he might not be Chris’s son. They all agreed to a DNA test and they were all hoping it came back positive. The whole thing made Eric very emotional. Eric grew up mostly in the foster care system. The Derricos were truly his family now and he was just so happy for them at possibly getting a little bit of Chris back into heir lives. And when GG wasn’t comforting Eric, she was telling Darian all that she has to offer.
GG reminded Darian that she has the best figure. She has a cute butt. She has hips. She has the figure of an adult and that made Darian happy to hear. It reminded her that she was still attractive. Darian began feeling so much better that she changed her mind about the fashion show. She wanted to help support her mom. Karen had needed to hear that because Karen was feeling sad. She sent out ten thousand invites to the virtual fashion show. She only heard back from forty. She was worried about being a failure when she talked to her husband. And he reminded her that she was building her business.
She wasn’t going to be a success right away, but if she makes it then they will come. Karen was feeling better after that. She launched her clothing line. She had the virtual fashion show and over two thousand people tuned in.
And the DNA Test results came back – Amani was Chris’s son. Amani finally found his father and his family. His family finally got the closure they needed about Chris’s passing. And Uncle Deon was going to step up to be the role model for Amani that he knew his brother would have been.
