In tonight’s DDWTD episode, the family was back from Detroit! They enjoyed their trip only they had to return for school. Summer was officially over for them. It was time to get back to work and to make things even more difficult was the fact that Diaz and Dior were now starting their first day of Kindergarten.

The babies were quickly growing up. The quintuplets also had a birthday coming up. Deon and Karen were lucky in the sense that the kids didn’t need separate parties for each one and so they were putting plans into actions when GG called in the middle of the night. A pipe burst at her house. She was flooded out. And had to stay in a hotel room.

GG being driven out of her house came just days before she started chemotherapy. It had been brutal the last time GG went through chemotherapy. She was already scared of doing it again and then this happens – the pipe bursts. She thankfully had her family there to support her. They stopped by to clean up. They tried to save as much as they could. They just couldn’t make the house livable overnight and so GG needed to relocate somewhere. And naturally Deon offered to let her move in with his family.

Only GG didn’t want to be dependent on someone so late in life. She liked living on her own. She liked depending on herself. She wasn’t ready to live with fourteen kids or to be pushed out of her own house. Deon had to make a worthwhile case with her before she would even agree to move in with him. GG was a stubborn woman and she didn’t like leaving her house. She would have stayed there if he hadn’t smelled of water damage. That’s what caused GG to agreed to move temporarily. And that created a new problem.

Where were they going to fit her? The house was overcrowded. There wasn’t enough room for all the kids to do their homeschooling and now they were teaching two more kids at home. Now they have to find space for GG. Deon and Karen thought about it and they decided to give GG their bedroom. They were going to relocate to the living room. They tested it out and it wasn’t so bad. They were fine in the living room. They just wanted their matriarch to feel comfortable and she needed to be at her best before she started chemo.

Later, the family celebrated the quintuplets’ birthday. The girls wanted a spa day. They dragged their brothers with them and they all got to do their nails. The guys also got to choose an activity. They chose touch football. Both sides ultimately enjoyed every bit of their birthday. The guys enjoyed the mani/peds. The girls enjoyed scoring against the guys. It was all fun. Then came GG’s chemo. Her tumor has shrunk some. It hasn’t shrunken as much as she and her doctors wished but hopefully chemo will help her get the rest of the way.

School meanwhile didn’t go as smoothly as they might have dreamed. There was little space, there were three kids still in pullups, and Karen had just started her online clothing store. Karen was typically great as a balancing act. Only she couldn’t get ahead with the many issues facing her family. Deon likes to say that Karen could do it all. They were raising quintuplets with her feeding two, burping the third, and keeping track of which diaper needed to be changed. And now she’s slowing down some.

Karen also doesn’t like to ask for help. She tries to take everything on herself because she knew Deon was busy with his mother and with his business. She felt she could handle everything on her own only she won’t be getting as much help as she did get before. It seems GG couldn’t be around crowds because her white blood cells are low. She can easily catch an infection and that’s why her doctor wants her away from crowds. And frankly her whole family was a crowd, a dangerous crowd because the kids could catch anything to pass on to her.

And so GG couldn’t go to the family fun day they had planned with everyone for the quintuplets. She couldn’t even stay at their house. GG had to find an alternative because she has to focus on her health. Its her dream to have all of her grandkids remember her and that can’t happen if she dies when they’re just babies.

THE END!
