In tonight’s FBI Most Wanted episode, in the continuation of an epic FBI crossover, Remy and his people found out it was to them to stop an assassination. They thought it was a possible assassination of their president. Only they had been wrong. The president of the United States was safe. He wasn’t even in New York.
He was on his way to London. He has everyone believing he was in New York to give a speech at the U.N. when in actuality he was flying to London. His Secret Service detail was keeping that to themselves to better control his security and so the president wasn’t in danger. The Vice President also wasn’t in danger. She was on a trip to South America.
The notebook they found in the terrorists’ den claimed that a president was a target. They just didn’t mention of which country and so there could be hundreds of presidents at risk.
Especially at the U.N. The only thing the FBI knew was that something was going down in New York. Hanna was their internet girl. She was the one that checked into the dark web tip that Maggie and OA had given her. She found out that the terrorist called Lenkov has been talking to someone online about an imminent terrorist attack that was supposed to make 9/11 look like child’s play.
Lenkov even claimed that this attack would ensure that New York never recovered. He didn’t give any other hints about the attack and the team didn’t know what exactly he was planning. They just knew it would be bad. Scola was supposed to be assisting them with this case, but one of the men they had captured in an earlier raid had had a teenage son living in Queens.
Scola had wanted to use that child to get his father to crack. He already crossed a line when he attempted to torture Viktor into telling them about their plans. And so Remy thought using a child was a step too far.
The boy was only fourteen. He was in school. He has no idea his dad was a terrorist. Not that it mattered to Scola because he stopped focusing on the case and he now just wants revenge. Scola’s former girlfriend was also an FBI Agent. She had gotten injured by these terrorists and they were expecting a baby together.
It was touch and go for both mother and child. Only Forrester hadn’t wanted to tell Scola that and so he lied by saying the doctors were optimistic. He chose to give Scola hope. He thought he was helping and really he was giving Scola an excuse to bend the rules to get revenge.
Remy’s team was supposed to be looking for the terrorists. They were also supposed to be looking for a woman by the name of Allison Green. This woman was an American Exec that got kidnapped for a reason that no one at the FBI could figure out. They eventually found Allison and she too didn’t know why she had been taken. She said her captors took a photo of her all tied up on their cell phone. And that was it. They didn’t speak English around Allison. She had no idea what they were talking about or why they were doing any of it.
Scola meanwhile got a tip about where the Belarusians were last seen. He went to the building with the rest of Remy team and it had been rigged to blow. Everyone got out of there. They got out in time because no one was injured when the building exploded. But Scola couldn’t leave it at that. He went running into the burning building. He tried to look for evidence and Remy had to drag him out of there. Remy was sympathetic to his situation only he wasn’t going to allow Scola to risk his life or any of their lives because of his need for revenge.
It turns out all the answers they needed were with Allison. They further looked into Allison. Allison has a loved one that runs TSA’s security at JFK airport. The terrorists weren’t going after a president. They were going after an airport named after a president. They apparently used Allison’s kidnapping to get ghost passes. These passes opened all doors at the airport. They couldn’t be shut down. They couldn’t be traced and so the terrorists knew what they were doing by asking for those specific passes. The FBI figured out that they were after the jet fuels line at the airport.
With the suckers in play, a small explosion would be enough to take down the whole airport. The FBI raced to JFK. They tried to warn the airport personnel about the risk. Airport security wanted to clear the whole airport. She also wanted to divert planes and Remy stopped her. He said doing that would risk alerting the terrorists that they were there. That they figured out their plan. He couldn’t let that happen and so he allowed for business to go on as usual while he and his team pursued the terrorists in the building.
They caught the trigger man before he could press the trigger. They also caught the man who had the jet fuel lines opened up. This was the same man that had shot Nina in the security footage Scola saw and Scola was tempted to just outright murder this man, but Remy was able to bring him back to sanity. The rest of the team had captured Lenkov. Lenkov had already set the bomb on a timer. Scola and Remy stayed behind to go look for that bomb and they ran into a security guard who had heard terrorists were dressed as cops. And so he tried to stop them.
Only they didn’t have time for that. Remy shot the guard and they made it the bomb where Remy defused it purely by chance. He just grabbed a wire and pulled and it thankfully worked out for him. And that freed up Scola to go visit Nina in Rome.
Scola could tell by the sound of Forrester’s voice that he had lied earlier. He wasn’t reassured until he saw Nina for himself that his family was going to be alright. Nina and Scola still love each other and they were reminded of that after everything that’s happened. And so they might get back together after this.
THE END!
