In tonight’s FBI episode, Forrester and his team were assisting the New York office with a case. They flew to Rome to work the case with Special Agent Nina Chase and Jubal. But something went wrong. They didn’t bring the case to a conclusion. The bad guys got away. The man they were looking for had been tortured to death.
Nina was also injured. She got shot overseas and so Jubal had wanted to stay with her. He also thought that Scola deserves to know what happened. Isobel however disagreed with that decision. Isobel ordered Jubal to return to New York to deal with the imminent threat there. She also ordered him not to tell Scola about Nina. She said Scola was undercover and that he didn’t need a distraction.
Only she had been in the wrong for that one. It was one thing to more or less abandon Nina when she was fighting for her life. The least they could have done was told Scola about it. Isobel knew that Nina was pregnant. She was pregnant by Scola and it was his baby that was on the line, but she chose to ignore that in order to keep Scola involved in this case.
Scola had gone undercover as a seller of C4. He was supposed to find out what the buyer needed it for as well as when it was supposed to get used. And he was being stonewalled.
His supposed buyer kept coming up with excuses. Nico either had another seller or he was playing with Scola. Scola couldn’t tell for sure because Nico forced Scola into taking drugs the last time they met. Scola later reported what happened to Jubal. It was usually against policy for agents to take anything stronger than an Advil.
They make exceptions when agents are forced into it to maintain the cover. They also let this one slide because they were afraid to tell Scola about Nina. The poor guy kept asking about Nina.
Scola has been trying to call her. She wasn’t answering his calls or his texts and so that made him worried. He asked Isobel if Nina was alright. Isobel said she was. He later asked Jubal if Nina was alright and if she flew back with him. Jubal had to come up with a story about how Nina was still dealing with paperwork in Rome.
But Scola went on to hear that an FBI Agent had gotten shot overseas. It was actually Nico who told him. Nico had finally introduced Scola to his boss and Andre Chernin wasn’t “feeling” him.
The boss wanted to walk away from the deal entirely because he said he got a bad feeling about Scola. Scola had to ask Nico what that was about and Nico explained that the people his boss was mixed up with had gotten antsy after shooting an FBI Agent in Rome. After that meeting, Scola asked Maggie and OA if they had heard about this shooting. They told him they hadn’t because Isobel and Jubal was keeping everyone in the dark. No one else besides them knew what really happened in Rome.
Maggie and OA also chose to follow Chernin. They must have gotten too close because he spotted them. He started to run away and they followed him. They chased him down. They shot up his car when he got into one. They essentially forced him off the road and they took him prisoner. They returned to their building with him to question him when someone from the State Department showed up. The new guy demanded full access to Chernin. And he used that time to torture Chernin into desperation.
Jubal had gotten a word from the ADIC that they were supposed to help with this case. He decided interrupt Chernin’s interrogation and Chernin used that distraction long enough to kill himself. He was that scared of the people he was working with. Only the reason his torture had been approved was because there’s been a lot of online chatter. The State Department believes the Belarusians were planning something on the same scale of 9/11. They also said that it would be Jubal’s fault if it happens because he interrupted them as they were “working” on their only lead.
Only Scola thought they were overhyping what’s going on. He’s been in talks with Nico for weeks. Nico hadn’t wanted enough C4 for another 9/11. He was asking for much smaller coordinated amount and so Scola was all for defending his team from unfair accusations when he checked up on Nico’s story. He called Forrester. He had to find out from Forrester that there was a shooting and that Nina was fighting for her life. He couldn’t believe that Isobel and Jubal would lie to him. He confronted them. He told them they had no right to hide Nina’s condition from him and he said they don’t get to keep him in the dark because of the possibility of his reaction.
Isobel then told him that she does get to make those calls because she was his boss. Scola was also undercover. He couldn’t go running off to Rome to be with Nina. He had to stay on the case. The same case that got another lead. This one seemingly out of nowhere. The Belarusians took time out of their busy schedule to abduct an American woman. Her name is Allison Green. She was an HR Exec. She has no times to Belarus or to the Russians. She wasn’t even a source for C4. It made no sense why they would kidnap her and so that’s when Isobel handed over this case to Remy and his team.
Remy’s people were the manhunters. They went looking for the terrorists and they also found out that Nico was more involved than he let on. Nico had helped abduct Allison. They followed the car he took back to his apartment building that was supposed to be vacant. Except it wasn’t. Nico was letting the Russians stay in the building. The FBI tried to crash the party and they arrested several guys and they also lost Lenkov again. Lenkov escaped into a black van.
And there were still no signs of Allison, but they did learn that the Russians planned on assassinating the President of the United States of America.
THE END!
