Tonight’s episode begins with Morgan, he is laying on a train track, he doesn’t remember how he got there. Madison finds Morgan and takes him inside a building, she has his axe, she said she took it to be sure he wouldn’t hurt her. He tells her that Mo thinks she can clear those containers by herself and she is going to die if they don’t help her. They look at a wall, and written in blood is “clear.”
He tells her they have to go, he thought he was past this. All he sees is red, kills and kills until it is cleared, she is not safe with him. It’s a like a cycle and it is starting again. He swung his axe at her and he can’t remember. She says she is not leaving him, she lost herself before too and he helped her come back. She is going to make sure he doesn’t lose himself again. He tells her they have to come back, bury Grace right, they can’t lose Mo, he doesn’t think he can survive that.
They go outside and Morgan says there were more walkers than this, he starts seeing red and begins killing the walkers. It happened again, he doesn’t remember, Daniel is there, he says they have June monitoring Padre from he Repeater Station, Mo and the prefects opened the gates. Mo led the herd into the marshes. The island has been evacuated. Morgan tries to radio Mo, she tells her she can’t hide and she can’t run. He tells her not to run. Morgan tells Madison they have to move. Morgan says if Mo makes it to the ship, Shrike is going to send them all out to establish settlement all over the country and he will never see his kid again.
June calls in, Mo is taking them to a houseboat. Morgan and the rest head to the houseboat.
Morgan and Mo talk over walkie talkie, he tells her to go to the houseboat and he will get there, she says no. More is looking for the coordinates for Shrike, they need it to launch the expansion.
Morgan has a another flash of red, then he wakes up in quicksand with his axe, walkers are on their way close to him. He has his walkie talkie, he tells her it is happening again, he is afraid of what he might do. He tells her to run.
Dwight is loading a gun when June walks in, he says he is going to the swamp.
Somehow, Morgan is now in the swamp, Mo is there and she stabbed him by accident. He calls Daniel and Madison, says he is losing blood, he need them to help Mo, they are at the houseboat. Morgan passes out, Mo brings her in the houseboat but it is sinking. She tied his hand to a board to protect herself from him. She tells him that they are both going to die because of him, there is no way out. She was to call Shrike and he says no way. He shoots a flare for Madison to find the.
Madison is on her way but Shrike finds her and threatens to shoot her, but Daniel and the rest arrive to save Madison.
Morgan and Mo are still in the house boat and water continues to rise. Morgan is seeing red, there are walkers everywhere, Mo is doing her best to ward them off. Madison is trying her best to get to them. Morgan hands Mo a tank, he tells her to swim under water and continue swimming until she gets clear of the place, she goes Morgan radios Madison and tells her that he gave Mo the scuba tank, she is going to be ok. Shrike gets in on the conversation just when Morgan sees the walker with the binoculars, the one she is looking for, where the coordinates are hidden and he says he is going to bury them at the bottom of the swamp.
Morgan wakes up, he is out of the water, Madison saved him. Shrike walks up shouting Nightingale, where is he. Morgan says he went down with the ship. All of a sudden, Shrike sees the walker, its someone she knows from her childhood, her father. Morgan shouts shoot him and she doesn’t, the walker bites her in the neck, its too late. Madison bends down, she takes the binoculars and inside are the coordinates. Madison tells Shrike that she is is sorry.
Crane and his people have Daniel and his people all on their knees and demands they shoot them. Daniel tells everyone if they do this it will haunt them for the rest of their life. Mo is among them, Crane demands they pull the trigger. Morgan walks in with Madison, he says he is not there to hurt anyone they have the coordinates and want nothing for them. Morgan says if that is what it takes to end all this.
He also tells Mo she can go, he is not going to stop her. Morgan says since he lost his wife and son he lost himself and when Mo’s mom died it started all over again. Madison tells Crane that his sister was going to kill them and she couldn’t when she saw her father come out of the marsh. Crane is about to shoot Morgan and Mo stops him, she goes over to Morgan and tells him that she wants to be with him.
Shrike is still alive, June has her and she is strapped to a board. June calls Dwight and Sherry and ask what they want to do with her. Dwight says to make it quick and painless. Crane shows up, he begs June to see her. June tells him to do it or she will. June leaves the area and tells Crane to bury her and look for another place to live.
Mo is at the water with Morgan, Madison is there and he thanks her for helping him to find his daughter and himself again. He says he has leave and find the people he ran away from. Mo tells Madison she gave her a reason to believe. Morgan hugs Madison and tells her they will alway be with her.
Dwight says Finch was the name Padre gave him as he and Sherry are burying him. Dwight says this has to be the end of it, of them, no matter where they go, what they do, it remains the same. She says it never stops. He says it gets worse, not because of assholes like Negan and Shrike, maybe they are just not meant to be together. He says he would go back home, start over. She says she doesn’t want him to hurt anymore. He doesn’t want to hurt her either, they hug.
Madison wants to go back to the island, there are files that tell everyone who their parents are and they might still be out there, she wants to make Padre what it was supposed to be in the first place.
Morgan is finishing up Grace’s grave, he hugs Mo and tells her he has something for her, it is a stick, she can practice, go through her forms. Morgan goes to Eastman’s grave and asks him to watch over Grace. Then, he tells Mo they have to get going, they are going to go try to find that friend that told him not to run. Then Morgan takes the radio and calls out to Rick Grimes, says he is looking for him.
Madison can be heard over the radio, she is saying the Padre has fallen and that if the parents hear her out there they should follow coordinates and send an SOS.
