General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, April 7, reveals that the bodyguard for Gladys Corbin’s (Bonnie Burroughs) bracelet grew concerned when he couldn’t find her. After framing Cody Bell (Josh Kelly), Gladys resurfaced without the bracelet on her wrist and was adamant that it had been stolen.
Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) thought maybe Gladys just lost it and tried to help her retrace her steps.
Gladys eventually mentioned being backstage and speaking with Cody, so she pointed the finger at him.
Once Cody took part in the Magic Wands performance, he came looking for his missing tux jacket.
That led to Gladys and the bodyguard making theft accusations, but Cody insisted he never touched the bracelet.
Sasha wanted to believe Cody, but Gladys acted like he’d been casing her all night.
Cody couldn’t deny that he’d followed Gladys, but continued to defend his innocence and felt he’d been framed.
Unfortunately, Mac Scorpio (John J. York) was brought into this and had to follow the evidence, so he put the handcuffs on Cody and placed him under arrest.
After Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) did some moping, he met back up with Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) and hoped to fix things between them.
Trina felt like Spencer had been an entitled jerk to Dex Heller (Evan Hofer), but she also felt there was more to the story since Spencer had been looking for a fight.
Trina wondered what was really going on with Spencer and pushed him to apologize to Dex, but he got distracted by Victor Cassadine’s (Charles Shaughnessy) phone call and took off.
At the safe house, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) tried to stop the bleeding since Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) had been shot in the abdomen.
Anna pushed Valentin to chase after Victor, but he refused to leave Anna as they waited for an ambulance to arrive.
Anna talked about knowing Valentin’s heart and told him that she loved him, so Valentin said he loved her too before she passed out.
On The Haunted Star, Victor got updates from a henchman and learned Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) wasn’t a patient at the Swiss burn unit.
That gave Victor more proof that the fire was a ruse and that Holly was off looking for her son.
Victor insisted that it was time to unload Ethan Lovett (Nathan Parsons) for a profit.
As for Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring), Victor wanted constant surveillance for her home, the Metro Court and the PCPD since those were the places she was likely to turn up.
Backstage at the Nurses Ball, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) told Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) about Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) vanishing for real during the magic act.
Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) helped investigate and found a trap door at the bottom of the vanishing cabinet. Dex was also put to work on finding Liesl, but he came up emptyhanded.
Since Liesl was set to be Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) bone marrow donor in the morning, that gave Nina another reason to worry.
Sonny did his best to comfort Nina before coming to Lucy’s rescue soon after.
In a wardrobe area, Victor’s henchman cornered Lucy with a gun. Lucy fought back and tried to make a break for it, but the door was locked.
Suddenly, Sonny appeared and knocked the henchman out, so he vowed to take care of the guy while Lucy dashed off.
When Laura Collins (Genie Francis) returned home, she found Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) holding Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay) and reached toward him.
Esme warned Laura not to touch Ace, so Laura assured Esme that she’d never hurt him.
Although Esme knew that, she was struggling to let Ace out of her sight since everyone seemed to have a claim on him.
After Laura got a call about Anna being in the hospital, she let Esme know that she had to leave right away.
On The Haunted Star, Spencer assured Victor that he followed his instructions and told no one that he was coming.
Spencer wondered if something had changed regarding the plan for Ace and asked if Victor needed him to do something.
Victor acted like Spencer had already done his part by coming there. As the ship’s engine started up, Spencer seemed confused over what Victor was up to.
At GH, Valentin told Laura and Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) about Anna’s gunshot wound and said she coded in the ambulance before they brought her back.
Valentin also confirmed that Victor shot Anna while Lucy escaped, but he didn’t know where Lucy was now.
Since Victor said something about how he’d chosen a new heir, Valentin passed along that news.
Anna’s doctor revealed that she was being prepped for surgery to remove the bullet and was in critical condition.
They wouldn’t know the extent of the organ damage until they got inside.
Laura realized the phone call earlier hadn’t really been from the hospital since Anna got there just before her own arrival.
That led to Laura calling Esme and growing concerned when she didn’t get an answer.
After Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) showed up, she found Robert blasting Valentin for Anna’s current state.
Felicia argued Victor was to blame, but Valentin admitted Robert was right since Victor shot Anna to hurt him.
Once Laura made it back home, she found Ace’s dropped binky and opened the door to a mess. Esme was unconscious on the floor, but there was no sign of Ace.
Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) also found out about Anna’s shooting, so she caught up with Valentin and the hospital and acknowledged his faked death.
Valentin said Victor shot Anna and that they had to stop the plan he was unleashing.
On stage at the Nurses Ball, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) said a few words as a tribute to Bobbie Spencer’s (Jacklyn Zeman) many years at GH.
There were some flashbacks before Bobbie made a speech about Lucy, whose picture was on a screen behind her.
Lucy heard Bobbie joking around all her past mistakes and fumed, so she became determined to join her on stage.
Once Lucy tripped, she went tumbling through the screen and ripped through her own photo.
The crowd was stunned to see that Lucy was alive, but they all cheered in approval once they got past the shock.
General Hospital spoilers say there’s much more drama to come thanks to Victor’s threat, so stay tuned.
