General Hospital Recap: Friday, May 19 – Sonny Refuses to Fire Dex – Jordan Stops Curtis’ Cheating

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, May 19, reveals that Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) pulled back from his kiss with Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) and suggested they should get out of there.

Curtis clearly wanted to go hook up with Jordan, but she pumped the brakes so they could talk about their spark and why this was happening.

Jordan wondered if this was a last grasp for something that was already over or if their feelings would always be there – just waiting to be rekindled.

After Jordan asked if Curtis was on the rebound or if his marriage to Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) was done, Curtis couldn’t give her answers about their potential second chance.

Since Curtis’ life was up in their air, he didn’t want to make promises he couldn’t keep.

Once Curtis figured things out, Jordan said he knew where to find her. Curtis kissed Jordan’s cheek and told her to take care before she left.

At GH, Marcus Taggert (Réal Andrews) once again warned Portia not to go after Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez), especially if she was focusing on that to avoid focusing on her marriage troubles.

Taggert felt that Portia had to stop tiptoeing around Curtis and tell him that she loved him before it was too late.

Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) wasn’t a little girl anymore, so Taggert urged Portia to focus on living her own life.

After Taggert included Jordan in the list of people who cared about Trina, he thought it was obvious that Jordan deliberately caused the elevator emergency back when Portia needed to bring Oz Haggerty (Max Faugno) out of his coma.

Taggert urged Portia to stop using Trina as an excuse and start putting that energy into working on her marriage, but Portia said Curtis had to want that, too.

In the meantime, Portia planned to make sure Trina saw exactly who Spencer Cassadine really was!

At Kelly’s, Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) was eager to get Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) to sign the necessary affidavit, but Cody was more interested in helping James West (Gary James Fuller) get over his fear of horses and get excited about camp.

Cody met James thanks to Liesl Obrecht’s (Kathleen Gati) introduction and had ice cream sundaes with him as they talked.

While Cody and James stepped over to the counter for brownies, Liesl quizzed Scott about the legal action he was taking for Cody. Scott said he didn’t want to ruin the surprise and kept that news under wraps.

Later, Scott offered to give Liesl and James a ride, so he seemed pleased when Obrecht went along with the idea.

At Crimson, Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) showed up to discuss some new ads for Deception, which led to her speaking with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) about Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen).

If Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) got their way, Nina felt she would never be part of Willow’s life.

Sasha offered to speak to them on Nina’s behalf and opened up about her growing confidence.

In fact, Sasha planned to petition the court so she could end the guardianship and take charge of her life again.

Sasha also thought Willow didn’t know what she was missing and pointed out that Nina forgave her after she lied about being her biological child.

Nina reflected on how she once believed Sasha was the daughter she always wanted, so Sasha admitted Nina was the mother she always wished for.

Sasha and Nina shared a sweet hug as they acknowledged their bond.

At GH, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) checked in with Michael, who hinted about progress with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and was counting on him to choose his family over Nina.

Dante thought that was a longshot and urged Michael not to force Sonny into that decision.

In Sonny’s office, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) pointed out that Sonny used to say he’d do anything for her.

Sonny confirmed that always stood, so Josslyn wanted to take him up on the offer – though Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) didn’t know she was there.

Josslyn said she wanted Sonny to fire Dex, but Sonny pointed out that she knew Dex worked for him when they met.

Sonny asked what changed, but Josslyn insisted nothing had and owned the fact that she fell for Dex.

Now that Sonny had reached an understanding with Michael, he hoped to reach one with Josslyn as well. Josslyn was game and said Sonny could start by letting Dex go.

However, Sonny insisted that if Dex wanted that, he’d need to come to his boss himself.

Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) was forced to wait until Sonny’s meeting with Josslyn wrapped up, so she saw Frank give Dex an envelope with a cash bonus from Sonny.

When Josslyn came out of Sonny’s office, Dex was stunned to see her. Once Dex took Josslyn somewhere more private, he reeled over her asking Sonny to cut him loose.

Dex didn’t need Josslyn constantly trying to rescue him, but Josslyn felt her track record was awesome so far.

Joss didn’t want Dex to go around risking his neck without telling her, but he thought that was unrealistic since he couldn’t share every single decision on the job.

Josslyn pointed out that she wanted Dex to be free of Sonny and thought he wanted that, too.

Dex acknowledged that he did and pulled Josslyn into a steamy kiss before they agreed they had to trust each other.

Although Dex wondered where Josslyn was going next, she pushed him to trust her and ultimately found Michael at the hospital.

Back with Gladys, she told Sonny this was his lucky day and tried to get him to invest in Deception’s new line of products.

Gladys was hoping to negotiate a finder’s fee, but Sonny’s portfolio was fine – and he didn’t want to get caught up in a situation like the one Carly was facing.

On his way out, Sonny told Frank to get his cousin a big box of biscotti, so Frank eventually handed it over.

Gladys quizzed Frank about the fat envelope earlier and assumed Dex was being rewarded for some deal.

Frank wouldn’t provide any details, but Gladys still got Selina Wu (Lydia Look) on the phone and hinted about being able to offer something better than money.

Back with Sasha, she got shocking updates from Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms), who spilled how Cody threatened to streak in front of the camera to stop the Home and Heart sabotage.

Maxie relayed the info she’d learned, so Sasha dashed off to find Cody. When Sasha walked in Kelly’s, she locked eyes with Cody from across the room.

General Hospital spoilers say Sasha and Cody could be headed for a love story down the road, so stay tuned.
