General Hospital Recap: Monday, July 24 – Drew Rescues Cyrus – Dex Finds Gordon’s Body – Sonny’s Wyndemere Shocker

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Monday, July 24, reveals that Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) asked Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) to have a date with him at the Port Charles Grill, so they laughed since they’d both made reservations there for later.

After Yuri returned home from Russia sooner than planned, he gave Terry Randolph (Cassandra James) updates on Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and Laura Collins’ (Genie Francis) risky journey.

Since it had been a year since they started seeing each other, Yuri gave Terry a box that contained a key to his place.

Terry was surprised and put the conversation on hold so she could talk to Finn about becoming her co-chief of staff.

While Terry made another pitch to Finn about why he should accept the job, Yuri took a staticky call from Valentin and grew concerned when they got disconnected.

Terry caught up with Yuri again and admitted she was thrown over his key offer since she was so used to being on her own.

However, Terry ultimately gave Yuri a key to her place as well and shared a kiss with him.

After Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) urged Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) to stay on Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) and find out whatever info he could, Dex got caught lingering outside Austin’s office.

Elizabeth confronted Dex and pointed out that she was Cameron Webber’s (William Lipton) mother, so she knew all about what happened with Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy).

Liz also knew who Dex worked for and was skeptical of his story about getting lost, so she made it clear that she wouldn’t tolerate anything shady.

In Austin’s office, he met with Mason Gatlin (Nathanyael Grey) and Gordon Stevens (Maurice Benard) about Sonny’s newfound suspicions.

Austin argued that it was just because he was romantically involved with Ava Jerome (Maura West), who was the mother of Sonny’s child.

However, Gordon warned that if he didn’t get an extra $100,000, then he’d tell Sonny exactly what Austin and Ava have been doing behind his back.

Mason acted like Gordon would get exactly what he was owed, but he’d have to keep his distance from now on.

Dex caught Gordon leaving GH and realized he fit the description of the guy Sonny threatened, so he followed him to the alley.

That’s where Dex found Gordon’s lifeless body on the ground.

Later, Mason opened a lollipop and hinted to Austin about making his own luck.

At the Port Charles Grill, Liz and Finn seemed hopeful as they kicked off their date night.

After Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) realized she was late to the visit Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) had agreed to, Sonny assured her that Willow and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) would understand once she explained.

At the Quartermaine gatehouse, Michael ranted about Nina not even showing up when Willow offered this chance to spend time with her and the kids.

Once Nina came over and greeted Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Viron Weaver), Michael pulled her over for a more private conversation.

Although Michael was upset over Nina blowing them off, she asked for a chance to explain.

Willow realized something was wrong, so Nina gave them the news about Sasha Gilmore’s (Sofia Mattsson) ordeal at the hospital.

Michael stepped outside and called Sonny, who confirmed that Sasha was arrested and sent to Ferncliff.

After Michael suggested there must be something they can do, Sonny said he was already working on it.

Back with Willow, she was impressed with the way Nina had dropped everything to be there for Sasha.

Willow also appreciated how Nina was respecting boundaries and complimented her for getting her feud with Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) under control.

At Kelly’s, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) tracked Carly down and confronted her about selling the house since she got a phone call from a classmate’s mother about it.

Carly defended her decision and refused to let Josslyn dip into her trust fund to help her.

Instead, Carly had a backup plan since Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman) – who was in Amsterdam settling Luke Spencer’s (Anthony Geary) affairs – sold her Kelly’s for a dollar.

Carly planned to pay Bobbie back later and seemed excited about making Kelly’s better than ever.

At Wyndemere, Ava’s new nanny, Betty Rutherford (Ella Lentini), showed up and played nice in front of the butler.

As soon as Betty was alone with Ava, she made it clear that Ava had to hire her and convince Sonny she was the right person for the job.

After Betty urged Ava to call her mother, Ava got Delia Ryan on the phone and grew concerned about the bad boy date who was taking her to a cabin in Pautuck.

Once Delia hung up, Ava approached Betty on the turret, but Betty warned that was close enough and eventually went back inside with her.

Ava played hardball and refused to obey orders until her mother was out of danger.

Betty then slapped Ava across the face and reminded Ava that she was in charge, so Sonny wondered if he was interrupting as he walked in.

At Pentonville, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) demanded to know if Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) targeted Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner), but Cyrus insisted he had no desire to hurt him or even Sonny these days.

Cyrus was grateful to both Drew and Curtis for everything they did to save Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) in Greenland since that’s his nephew.

When “Book” (Brad Schmidt) and another inmate came over trying to provoke Cyrus, Drew wound up manhandling “Book” and pointing out that he was an ex-Navy SEAL.

After “Book” and the other inmate left the prison library, Drew suggested the warden could help if Cyrus was being targeted.

Cyrus shut down that idea, especially since it’d mean crossing “them.”

That comment confused Drew, but Cyrus moved on and urged him to find family to survive behind bars.

If that family wasn’t with Cyrus’ group, he thought Drew should find another one.

General Hospital spoilers say Drew will run into more surprises behind bars, so stay tuned for more GH drama.
