General Hospital Recap: Monday, May 1 Recap – Sonny Finds Explosive in Pikeman Shipment – Michael Gets Video Proof

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Monday, May 1, reveals that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) met with Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) at the Metro Court and tried to get him to call off the anonymous tip to the SEC.

Martin informed Nina that it was too late and added that Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) had already been taken to the PCPD for questioning.

Now both Carly and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) would face an investigation, but Martin pointed out that they were indeed guilty of insider trading. Nina was merely the one behind the decision to report it.

At the warehouse, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) spoke to the guys from Pikeman Group and complained about the attempt on his life, which he assumed was due to whatever they were shipping.

Once Sonny demanded to see what was in the crate, Brick (Stephen A. Smith) identified one of the world’s most powerful plastic explosives and added that a single brick could take out a city block.

Sonny realized this was more dangerous business than he thought and demanded the terms be renegotiated after this shipment since he wanted to know who was behind the ambush.

After Sonny told Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) to make sure the cash exchange went smoothly, he left the meeting in Dex and Brick’s hands.

A briefcase full of cash was indeed handed over before the meeting concluded.

On his way out, Brick told Dex that he should trust no one other than Sonny.

Once the coast was clear, Dex made sure the hidden camera had recorded everything and sent the incriminating footage to Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) via text.

At the Quartermaine mansion, Carly was apologetic for ruining Willow Corinthos’ (Katelyn MacMullen) big day, but Willow insisted the wedding was over and was just worried about Carly.

Michael kept the blame on Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) and wasn’t that impressed with Sonny’s attempts to help by inventing the fake trip for Drew.

It wasn’t enough to make Michael forget Sonny’s past mistakes, but Willow thought it should count for something.

In a moment alone, Michael received the video evidence against Sonny through Dex’s text message.

After Sonny summoned Nina to his office, he offered updates on the whole SEC situation with Carly and Drew.

Nina was shocked to learn Drew wasn’t at the wedding since he was following a lead that could help bring Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) home.

Sonny explained that he threw the SEC off the trail, but Nina worried since that delay was only temporary.

Although Sonny didn’t know who turned Drew and Carly in, he pointed out that person was hurting Willow as well.

At GH, Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) ranted at Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) since he felt like they weren’t doing everything they could to save Liesl.

When Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) entered, he pushed Scott to keep his voice down since he was causing a scene.

Scott hadn’t contacted the WSB yet, but he threatened to make the call and started dialing the number.

Holly came up behind Scott and chloroformed him, so he was unconscious within seconds.

Anna decided to make the trip to Greenland with Holly and unhooked herself from all the hospital equipment before finding her clothes.

Although Robert wanted to come, Holly and Anna insisted he’d be more useful as backup in Port Charles.

In Greenland, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) jumped out of hiding so that the others could stay concealed and told the guards he was Victor Cassadine’s (Charles Shaughnessy) son.

In the bunker, Victor urged Liesl to push past the antidote roadblocks she had run into, but she needed a human test subject and refused to use Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) or Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez).

Once Victor received the news of Valentin’s arrival, he had his son brought in and presented Valentin to Liesl as a more mature test subject who was less innocent.

Back with Laura Collins (Genie Francis), she came up with a plan since Victor would be looking for Valentin’s accomplice.

Laura cried out for help, which created a diversion that allowed Drew and Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) to ambush the guards.

Curtis and Drew stole the guards’ clothes so that they looked the part for the next phase of the mission.

While Curtis raced off to save Trina, Spencer and Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay), Drew zip-tied Laura’s hands and made her his fake prisoner.

The goal was to deliver Laura to Victor and distract him so that Curtis could complete the rescue.

General Hospital spoilers say Curtis will do everything in his power to make sure the hostages get home to all their loved ones.
