General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Monday, October 9, reveals that Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) had an outburst over Lucy Coe’s (Lynn Herring) refusal to give up her ELQ voting rights to strike a better deal with Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot).
However, Lucy later had a staff meeting and announced that she was moving forward with a deal that would allow them to retain 49 percent of Deception.
Although it came at a personal cost, Lucy felt the need to do this for Maxie and the rest of her employees.
At The Invader, Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) interrupted Gregory Chase’s (Gregory Harrison) conversation with Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and asked if he could steal his dad away for a cup of coffee.
Once they were in private, Finn offered updates on how Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) accidentally learned the truth about Gregory’s ALS from Tracy.
Gregory felt selfish for not confessing to Chase sooner and ultimately headed to his son’s apartment.
Next on Monday’s GH episode, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) came home to find Chase crying on the sofa, so she heard the news about Gregory’s grim condition and provided support.
After Brook Lynn left to take care of something, Chase looked at pics of Gregory on his phone as he continued to cry.
Once Chase answered a knock at the door, he came face to face with Gregory.
Elsewhere, a woman with flashy fingernails read an article about Brook Lynn getting fired from Deception, so that was the show’s way of setting up Lois Cerullo’s (Rena Sofer) imminent return.
Back at The Invader, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) visited Alexis, who talked about Judge Albert Kim (Kurt Yue) ruling in ways that aligned with his special interests.
Carly offered up some proof since there’s a pilot that frequents Kelly’s and brags about the clients that he flies.
It turns out Judge Kim flew to the Caribbean with a rich investor, so Alexis did some checking to confirm the judge was gone on the dates Carly was talking about.
There wasn’t any official record of where Judge Kim went, so Carly assumed he didn’t list it on his tax info either.
When Carly wondered if this was enough to convince Judge Kim to reduce Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) sentence, Alexis hinted about giving Judge Kim enough rope to hang himself.
At Pentonville, Warden Garten (Diahnna Nicole Baxter) had a private meeting with Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) to let him know that she’s taking a job in Texas and would be overseeing all the federal prisons there.
Cyrus was concerned about what this meant for him, but Warden Garten acted like everything they talked about was still happening and pushed him to be patient.
Once Cyrus asked about Drew, Warden Garten ominously insisted that he’d be dealt with for good this time!
On the jet, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) surprised Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) with some extra guests for their wedding in Puerto Rico.
Nina was delighted when Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi), Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) all appeared.
Although Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) had a stomach bug and couldn’t come, Nina was glad that Donna Corinthos (Scarlett Spears) and Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) were getting settled in another part of the plane.
Sonny privately expressed his gratitude to Michael for agreeing to this trip.
Although it was ultimately Willow’s decision, Michael admitted that family should show up for big moments like this.
Willow and Kristina also agreed to help Nina get ready for her big day, so it seemed like some mother-daughter bonding was happening.
Nina eventually reconvened with Sonny to let him know how happy he’d made her, so they were on cloud nine as they prepared to tie the knot.
