General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, April 20, reveals that Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) left Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) an angry voicemail before complaining to Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) about ELQ’s stock taking a hit.
The news of Valentin’s fake death ploy had made people dislike the idea of a con man running the company.
Brook Lynn defended Valentin since Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) nearly died, but Ned acted like Anna was in good hands now and that ELQ needed to be the priority.
After Ned hinted about teaming up with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) to oust Valentin, Brook Lynn warned about blindsiding Valentin when his life was in such upheaval.
Although Ned said it was just business, Brook Lynn argued that Valentin was still a Cassadine and not someone you want as an enemy.
At Wyndemere, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) bickered with Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and assumed she told Michael not to invite her to the wedding.
Carly called Nina delusional and was surprised to learn that Michael invited Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
After Carly acted like Sonny was finally putting his family first, Nina ranted about Carly being the reason she didn’t have a chance to earn Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) forgiveness.
If Carly hadn’t concealed the DNA results, Nina argued that Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) could’ve been identified as a bone marrow match sooner and Willow’s nightmare would be over by now.
Carly felt that Nina should look in the mirror if she wanted someone to blame for the strain, but Nina was adamant about Carly being the reason Willow’s life was measured in days.
After Nina stomped off to her car, she fumed over Carly’s earlier words and muttered about her being a “sanctimonious bitch.”
Nina flashed back to her knowledge of the insider trading drama and hinted that it might be time for Carly to face consequences of her own.
At GH, Ava Jerome (Maura West) met up with Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr), who held Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) responsible for the danger Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) was in.
If Trina survived, Portia vowed to make sure Trina never saw Spencer again.
Ava thought that Portia would have to respect Trina’s feelings for Spencer or risk never reconciling with her daughter.
Portia worried it might be too late anyway, but Ava felt confident that Trina would get through this ordeal and would patch things up with her mom.
Meanwhile, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) gave Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) updates on Trina contacting them from the ship, but he needed Drew’s help to find the bunker that Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) was headed to.
Although Drew knew this had something to do with Operation Demeter, he had major memory gaps from that time in his life.
Despite Drew’s best efforts, he just couldn’t remember anything.
Once Portia joined the conversation, Curtis couldn’t believe there wasn’t someone who could tell them what Operation Demeter is.
Drew thought for a moment and realized maybe there was indeed someone who could.
When Ava returned to Wyndemere, Carly let her know that Nina had been there.
If Ava ever felt compelled to give her advice again, Carly made it clear she should keep that advice to herself!
On The Haunted Star, Victor officially welcomed Trina aboard and called attention to the fact that she was a stowaway saboteur.
Since Trina was clearly a clever woman, Victor said perhaps she could help him decide what to do with her.
Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) warned Victor to leave Trina alone and nearly attacked a guard before throwing his hands up at the sight of a gun.
As for Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati), she talked to Victor about the pathogen properties and had already conceived several protocols that could work for the vaccine. Victor smiled and said he knew Liesl could rise to the challenge.
On the ship’s deck, Victor gave Spencer one last chance to join him in his mission to reduce the population to more manageable levels.
Spencer refused, but Victor insisted Spencer shouldn’t fool himself and reminded him that he was a Cassadine.
Trina blurted out that Spencer was nothing like Victor, but Victor felt that Spencer was way too smart to forfeit his legacy for a pretty face.
Spencer argued that Trina was much more than that and made it clear that he’d never be on Victor’s side.
After Victor said Spencer broke his heart, he ordered Trina thrown overboard.
Spencer stopped Victor and said he’d do whatever he wanted as long as Trina remained unharmed.
However, Victor didn’t see why he should believe the backstabber and ordered Spencer thrown overboard as well.
Liesl piped up to stop Victor since both Spencer and Trina could be used as test subjects for the vaccine.
Obrecht also talked about this challenge awakening something inside her after losing Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud), so Victor seemed pleased.
As for Spencer and Trina, they huddled up and wished they knew what Liesl was thinking.
Trina and Spencer hoped to figure something out before they became guinea pigs.
Once Victor no longer had any use for Spencer and Trina, he planned to dispose of them.
Obrecht then called for Trina and Spencer to receive food and water since she needed healthy lab rats.
Despite the delay, Victor insisted they’d arrive at the bunker by morning and added that Liesl could get to work.
General Hospital spoilers say Spencer and Trina will keep trying to find a way out of this jam, so stay tuned!
