General Hospital Recap: Thursday, December 7 – Carly Turns Down Mr. Brennan’s Dinner Date – Marshall Sees a Ghost

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, December 7, reveals that Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) and Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) took Violet Finn (Jophielle Love) shopping for a Christmas tree, which led to Gregory’s advice to select one that was special instead of perfect.

Meanwhile, Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) got Robert Scorpio’s (Tristan Rogers) help picking out a tree as well. That led to an awkward run-in since Gregory thought seeing Diane there was an unfortunate coincidence.

After Diane and Robert took off, Alexis defended her friend to Gregory since the Muldoons had Diane on retainer. Diane was just doing her job – and based on the facts, Alexis admitted that Diane would probably win the malpractice case.

Alexis filled Gregory in on how she’d helped Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) prepare Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) for the deposition.

It really made Alexis realize how much she missed being a lawyer, so Gregory understood what it was like to lose the ability to do things you loved.

After Violet found a perfect tree, she decided to pick out a less pretty one instead since it’d be special.

At home, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) praised Marshall Ashford’s (Robert Gossett) tree-decorating skills before talk turned to a particular angel ornament. Marshall told a sweet story involving Irene Ashford (Cheryl Francis Harrington) and their first Christmas tree as newlyweds.

After Marshall stepped outside, Irene appeared to him and put her hand on his. Marshall cried over his regrets since he missed so many holidays – and it was all because he bolted following his misdiagnosis.

Irene pushed Marshall to focus on the fact that he’d reconnected with his family and stop wasting time thinking about things he couldn’t change.

Inside, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) gave Curtis updates on an experimental study that could offer the chance to walk again. One man involved in this study was paralyzed from the waist down, but he could walk with full body support 11 days after the procedure.

There were no guarantees, especially since this study was in its early stages, but Portia admitted she submitted Curtis’ name and info for it.

Portia delivered the news that they were now considering Curtis to be part of this study, so he seemed emotional as he thanked her and offered a kiss.

At Café Cherie on Thursday’s GH episode, Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) and Scott Baldwin (Kin Shiner) had a strange conversation that seemed flirty at times. Scott hinted about still feeling the spark, but Lucy acted like it was just nostalgia.

After Lucy said she was with Martin, she suggested Scott would figure things out with Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) or find someone else who was wonderful. Lucy suddenly decided she had to go and seemed uncomfortable as she took off in a hurry.

In the morgue, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) spoke with Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) about the final arson report, which didn’t point to Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) setting the fire.

Dante also mentioned another suspect since some ripped fabric was found at the scene that tested positive for the same accelerant inside the house. There was a match that pointed to Jameson Forsyth starting the blaze.

Anna realized that Forsyth likely set the fire to burn the incriminating report, but he couldn’t be sure that it was inside her house. That meant Forsyth had to monitor Anna and presumably saw her move the trunk to Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storms) old apartment.

After the cops cleared out following Charlotte’s ordeal, Forsyth was able to swipe the report from the trunk.

Now that Forsyth had been taken out, Anna questioned what happened to the report and felt confident someone else wanted to cover up what was inside.

The coroner came in next and revealed that Jameson Forsyth’s body was gone! It turns out the WSB removed the corpse and classified all the related reports, but the coroner did remember that Forsyth had a partially healed burn on his left leg from a few months ago.

Anna realized someone at the WSB was going to a great deal of trouble to clean this up. When Anna said she’d take it from here, Dante was concerned about her flying solo.

Nevertheless, Anna refused to put anyone else she cared about in danger and vowed to handle this alone.

Once Anna left, Dante pulled out the train locker key that was in the evidence bag and looked pensive.

At Kelly’s, Mr. Brennan (Charles Mesure) returned and ordered a BLT with fries this time around. That brought a friendly chat with Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) about how much Mr. Brennan was enjoying Port Charles.

Mr. Brennan wasn’t sure how long he was staying since this trip was open-ended due to his job. After Mr. Brennan said he was a security consultant, Carly wondered if he used to be a spy or perhaps ex-military.

Carly and Mr. Brennan’s conversation was interrupted by Diane and Robert’s arrival, so Carly took their order for two hot chocolates while Mr. Brennan glared nearby.

Once Mr. Brennan’s order was ready, Carly was confused since he had suddenly vanished. Mr. Brennan came back soon after and explained that he’d had to make a call on his satellite phone, which he’d left back in his hotel room.

As an apology for leaving without paying, Mr. Brennan offered a bouquet of flowers. Carly said that wasn’t necessary, but she ultimately accepted them.

When Mr. Brennan asked if he could take Carly out to dinner, she admitted she was already seeing someone. Mr. Brennan wasn’t surprised to hear that and said it was his loss.

After Mr. Brennan took a raincheck on a new order, he offered enough money to cover his bill from earlier. Although Mr. Brennan didn’t really come for the BLT, he was still glad he came and gave Carly a smile as he left.

General Hospital spoilers say Carly will remain intrigued by Mr. Brennan, so it’ll be interesting to see where things go from here. CDL’s the place to be for scorching General Hospital spoilers, updates and news, so make us your one-stop GH source.
