General Hospital Recap: Thursday, June 29 – Cyrus Awaits Drew’s Pentonville Arrival – Spencer Loses Bar Fight to Dex

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, June 29, reveals that Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) showed up at Hamilton Finn’s (Michael Easton) door after getting a text to come over, but they were both confused until Violet Finn (Jophielle Love) admitted to sending it.

Violet insisted Liz was right on time for their date and brought out flowers she’d ordered using Finn’s phone.

After Violet got Finn to light candles for a romantic dinner, the pizza Violet ordered arrived.

Violet played server and eventually brought out cupcakes for dessert before falling asleep.

Finn said he’d have a conversation with Violet about matchmaking since they couldn’t be together just because his daughter wanted them to be.

Liz agreed there had to be more between them – and there indeed seemed to be more between them as they talked.

Elizabeth was about to leave when Finn urged her to take the flowers with her, so that brought a close moment.

At Wyndemere, Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) banged on the door and eventually got Ava Jerome (Maura West) to let him in.

Austin poured himself a drink and felt Ava owed him one after what he did today.

Ava complained about Austin making it seem like Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) disappeared, but Austin felt he simply did something before she got kidnapped for real.

Plus, Austin felt it was better for Pilar (Brenda Barberena) to lose her job than her life since the people he worked for could’ve just eliminated her.

If they thought Pilar was standing in the way of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) Pikeman info, they wouldn’t hesitate.

Ava and Austin played the blame game over how they got into this mess.

Although Ava once again pushed for answers about who Austin worked for, he didn’t go into specifics.

Austin only said these weren’t run-of-the-mill mob types and that they didn’t care about codes or territories.

Ava could see that Austin’s fear was real, but she felt that everything else about him had been a lie.

Austin argued that Ava saw him as a “patsy,” so they bickered about not being able to trust each other.

After Austin admitted he didn’t want Ava to face a grisly end, she asked why and got a kiss planted on her.

In Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) bedroom, she couldn’t believe this was her last night with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison).

Carly felt guilty and felt she belonged in prison instead, but Drew was adamant about his decision causing the least amount of collateral damage.

After Drew admitted he loved Carly, she said she loved him too and would wait as long as it took for their life together.

Carly and Drew decided to make the most of tonight, so they slow danced and made love.

As they cuddled in bed, Carly made Drew promise that he’d be careful, stay out of trouble and come home to her.

At Pentonville, Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) read scripture in his cell and told a guard that a friend of his named Drew Cain was coming tomorrow.

At GH, Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) showed up after being summoned by Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr), who pushed her to take a parenting class with Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez).

After Portia made a pitch about all the benefits, Esme still wasn’t sure Spencer would be willing to take a class with her.

Portia suggested Esme should tell Spencer that she’s going either way and give him the option to come along.

At the Highsider bar, Spencer and Trina showed up hoping to speak to a witness who saw Oz Haggerty (Max Faugno) negotiating with Esme or even selling her the phone.

Trina wanted to get real evidence, but Spencer didn’t have high hopes.

When Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) showed up, Joss revealed that she knew about the proof Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) left for Spencer.

Spencer didn’t see why they were bothering looking for the real thing when they already had what they needed to take Esme down.

That let Trina know Spencer lied about destroying the evidence, so she wasn’t happy about that news.

Spencer defended having a backup plan, but Dex pointed out that taking evidence to the cops was complicated.

If the cops realized it was fake, Spencer could be arrested and charged with obstruction of justice.

Spencer acted like a combat vet wouldn’t know anything about this and took a jab about Dex opening doors for Sonny.

Dex decided to leave with Josslyn, but Spencer socked him in the face before he could go.

After Dex said the first one was free, he warned that the next one would cost Spencer.

When Spencer tried to take another swing, Dex beat him up enough to leave him injured on the floor.

Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) was having a date night with Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) nearby, so they witnessed the altercation and walked over.

Although Dante offered Dex the chance to press assault charges, he didn’t want any trouble and said he’d leave with Josslyn.

Dante helped Spencer up and said he didn’t think an ex-con would want a bar brawl on his record, so he urged Spencer to remember that next time.

Spencer was banged up and in pain as Trina blew up him for doing what he always does. It was like Greenland never happened, so Trina wondered if this was just who Spencer was.

Spencer tried to say he was sorry, but Trina couldn’t listen to another meaningless apology and stormed out.

Afterward, Sam felt sorry for Trina while Dante felt sorry for Spencer since he now had to grovel. As Sam danced with Dante, she assured him that she’d never walk out on him.

In Dex’s bedroom, Josslyn put all the blame on Spencer. Dex seemed amused over Joss being cute when she was angry, so they kissed despite his injured lip and made love.

Meanwhile, Spencer remained in pain and groaned as he took his shirt off. Esme came running in Spencer’s bedroom to ask what happened since he blew through the front door so fast.

After seeing that Spencer was shirtless and bruised, Esme was taken aback. Spencer insisted he was fine, but Esme left looking pensive over the whole thing.

Back at GH, Trina paid Portia a visit and learned things were still in limbo with Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner).

Portia thought Trina might be with Spencer tonight, but Trina said she wasn’t feeling their plans and decided to swing by.
