General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, March 23, reveals that Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) was relieved to learn the ethics committee had decided not to take any disciplinary action against her.
Since Violet Finn (Jophielle Love) wanted to have spaghetti and meatballs with Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton), Elizabeth and her boys, Liz got on board with the celebration dinner.
At The Invader, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) kept pushing until Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) finally confessed he was sick, so she promised whatever he wanted to divulge wouldn’t leave that room.
Gregory admitted he hadn’t told Finn, but he refused to share anything more with Alexis and hoped she meant her promise about keeping this quiet.
At Kelly’s, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) talked about Nurses Ball plans with Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) and Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs).
When Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) appeared, he acted like he knew Gladys from ladies’ night at The Savoy.
That led to questions that made Gladys uncomfortable, but Sasha got the wrong idea about why.
Sasha hated the thought of Gladys going out alone when they could go out together instead.
In fact, Sasha wanted to get glammed up and attend the Nurses Ball with Gladys.
After Sasha vowed to use her own money to buy Gladys a gown, she also felt that Gladys deserved a salary for managing her conservatorship.
Maxie stepped outside with Cody and found it surprisingly easy to convince him to be part of the Magic Milo performance.
Cody said he’d do it for Maxie and kept looking back toward Sasha like he was uneasy about Gladys.
After Maxie and Cody headed back inside, Sasha revealed that they had some high-end shopping to do since Gladys was going to be the belle of the Nurses Ball.
Cody spoke to Sasha alone and got updates on her new salary for Gladys, but he wondered if she could trust her.
If Sasha was going to put Gladys on the payroll, Cody thought it was wise to verify that trust.
Nearby, Maxie noticed Sasha’s growing bond with Cody and questioned whether something was going on between them.
Gladys hoped not and got a text from Selina Wu (Lydia Look) about another poker game happening at The Savoy.
At GH, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) ran into Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett), who privately shared his genetic screening results.
Marshall revealed that he had no genetic markers for schizophrenia, so Portia thought that explained why he’d never had another episode.
After Marshall asked if carelessness was the reason for his wrong diagnosis all those years ago, Portia pointed out the medical field had gained a better understanding of disorders over the past few decades.
Portia didn’t want to second-guess Marshall’s doctors, but she suggested maybe he could contact the original team who diagnosed him.
Marshall eventually called Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) for help tracking down his old medical records.
At Charlie’s Pub, Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) joined Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) for a glass of scotch and learned where things stood with Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali), who still didn’t want to take a DNA test.
Talk turned to Portia’s deception, so Jordan said perhaps Curtis could do what he hadn’t been able to do in their own marriage and forgive his wife.
Curtis worried that would make him a hypocrite since Jordan lied for barely a year while Portia lied for over 20 years.
When Curtis asked why Jordan didn’t fight for their marriage, she insisted she tried.
However, Jordan ultimately decided that Curtis’ happiness meant more than her own since he pushed her away.
If Curtis wasn’t so quick to judge and had handled things differently, he asked Jordan if they’d still be together.
Jordan confirmed that they would and nearly shared a kiss with Curtis, but they were interrupted with news about the car that had arrived for Jordan.
At Laura Collins’ (Genie Francis) place, Trina got the scoop on Esme Prince’s (Avery Pohl) compromise and how it meant she’d be living there along with the baby.
Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) confirmed that he’d be staying as well in case his little brother needed him.
After Spencer offered to walk Trina out, they stopped to talk by the elevator.
Trina assured Spencer that she understood and acted like he could raise Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay) with Esme.
That was the last thing Spencer wanted, but he pointed out that he could’ve lost Ace forever if he didn’t move Esme in.
Trina worried the new Esme could turn out to be even worse than the old one, but Spencer said he’d be the first to know if she showed her true colors.
Although Esme had fooled Spencer in the past, that was before he met Trina and learned what real understanding, support and connection felt like.
Spencer added that Trina gave him something that Esme could never give him – and that was honesty.
After Esme had a heart-to-heart with Laura, Ace woke up crying in the other room.
Laura eventually brought Ace out to Esme since it seemed like he wanted his mom.
Esme wondered what was keeping Spencer and opened the door to find him standing there with Trina.
Once Esme derailed Trina and Spencer’s attempt at a kiss, Spencer covered up the real topic of conversation and said Trina was telling him about the daycare program at PCU.
Since Spencer acted like he could take advantage of that, Esme insisted she could take care of Ace herself.
After wishing each other goodnight, Spencer shared one last look with Trina before she got on the elevator and left.
General Hospital spoilers say Spencer and Esme could both have a few tricks in store, so stay tuned!
