General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, May 18, reveals that Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) got an invitation to Victor Cassadine’s (Charles Shaughnessy) will reading via messenger, so Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) warned that nothing good could come from it.
However, Spencer worried since this had to be Victor’s contingency plan and last shot at revenge. If Victor set something in motion, Spencer felt he needed to be the one to stop it.
After Marcus Taggert (Réal Andrews) joined Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) and Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner), it was time for the first step of the DNA test.
Curtis went back first while Trina admitted to being nervous and got Taggert’s reassurance that nothing would change their bond.
Trina also told Portia that although she was still angry about her mother’s deception, she wasn’t as mad as she was before. Portia was thrilled over the progress and pulled Trina into a warm embrace.
At the PCPD, Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) left TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) a voicemail since she hadn’t heard from him in a while.
At GH, TJ was by Molly Lansing-Davis’ (Haley Pullos) side as she got bad news from Dr. Sofia Navarro (Christine Ferraro), who admitted Molly had severe endometriosis and that it’d be unlikely for her to conceive a child.
TJ urged Molly not to lose hope since they could explore treatments and alternatives, but she still felt like this was a crushing blow.
Molly was just now realizing how much she’d wanted to carry TJ’s baby, so she cried as he assured her that they were in this together.
Although they both needed time to process Dr. Navarro’s updates, TJ told Molly that they would still grow their family – even if it wasn’t in the way they thought they would.
While Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) was giving Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) a tour of The Invader, they found Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) in Alexis’ office.
Esme remembered Sam was a PI and that she’d been asking questions at Spring Ridge, so she worried this was all part of some manipulation.
Sam explained that Alexis was her mother, but Esme still felt like Alexis had ulterior motives for offering her the receptionist position.
Alexis insisted that Esme was part of her extended family now through Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay), so she was trying to help Esme financially support her son.
Esme agreed to stick with taking the job for now, so Alexis sent her down to HR.
That left Alexis alone with Sam, who feared her mom was inviting another snake into her life and warned about how it could backfire.
Alexis argued that she wasn’t getting snowed and said she was doing this to keep Esme in town with Ace for Laura Collins’ (Genie Francis) sake.
After a messenger showed up with Alexis’ invitation to Victor’s will reading, Sam admitted she got one as well.
Talk eventually turned to Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) revealing what was wrong and swearing Alexis to secrecy.
Although Alexis didn’t want to intrude on Gregory’s private time, Sam suggested there were ways of reaching out without being intrusive.
At The Savoy, Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) called Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) out for conspiring with Selina Wu (Lydia Look), so Holly decided they should go somewhere more private to discuss her situation.
On the pier, Holly opened up about the deadly debt trouble that Ethan Lovett (James Ryan) was in and explained that was why she needed a large influx of cash.
After Holly admitted she didn’t want to drag the DA into this, she also confessed that she was still in love with Robert.
Unfortunately, Robert and Holly figured out that love wasn’t enough to make them compatible – even after all these years of trying to make it work.
Holly still had to go help Ethan, so Robert asked how – though Holly insisted he shouldn’t ask questions he didn’t want the answer to.
After Holly vowed to take care of it and said Robert didn’t have to worry about her, he pointed out it was too late.
Holly said letting go of Robert would be the hardest thing she’d ever done, but she felt it was what they both needed.
Once Holly declared that she truly wanted Robert to be happy, she gave up a kiss on the cheek and lingered near his lips before leaving.
Robert muttered a goodbye and looked somber over letting Holly go as well.
When Jordan visited Curtis at The Savoy, she could tell something was bothering him.
Curtis wondered if he made a mistake by going through with the DNA test since he might upend a perfectly happy family.
Jordan urged Curtis to see that Trina wanted this DNA test and didn’t think he should blame himself for the drama that Portia’s deception caused.
Curtis thought maybe the best outcome would be for Taggert to be the bio father so Trina could go on living her life.
That said, Curtis selfishly wanted the results to show he was the father instead.
Once Curtis admitted he wanted that so bad it hurt, he suggested the only thing that’d hurt worse would be finding out he’s not Trina’s father after all.
Jordan pointed out that Curtis wasn’t alone before taking his hand, which led to the exes sharing a passionate kiss.
When Esme ran into Spencer at The Invader, she revealed she was there for a drug test since Alexis offered her a job at The Invader.
Spencer flipped out and wondered what Alexis was thinking, but Trina urged him to see that this was a good thing.
Although Spencer feared Esme might make enough money to leave with Ace, Trina thought the job could also give Esme a reason to stay.
This could also give Spencer more time to show Esme that his little brother needed him.
Job or no job, Trina acknowledged that Esme would always be part of Spencer’s family now.
As Portia watched Trina and Spencer sharing a close moment, she worried to Taggert about history repeating itself.
Portia said it was time for action and warned that she’d make sure Spencer was out of Trina’s life for good!
