General Hospital Recap: Thursday, October 12 – Ava’s Escape Blocked – Sonny & Nina’s Wedding Begins – Cyrus’ Release

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, October 12, reveals that Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) found Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) alone on the island in Puerto Rico.

Sonny was writing his own vows ahead of the marriage ceremony and revealed that he’d spent the night apart from Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), who didn’t want to risk any bad luck by seeing him before the wedding.

Kristina later spoke to Sonny privately, so he thanked her for being the first one in the family to accept Nina.

Since Kristina could see how happy Nina made Sonny, she felt like that was all that really mattered.

In the wedding area, Nina had a memory montage of her romance with Sonny – starting way back when he was “Mike” in Nixon Falls.

However, Nina also flashed back to turning Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) in for insider trading, so she seemed on edge over that anonymous tip.

Donna Corinthos (Scarlett Spears) got Nina’s attention and asked if she’d be her second mommy after Nina married Sonny.

Nina confirmed it, so Donna was thrilled and agreed to help with a couple of crucial wedding tasks.

In addition to being the flower girl, Donna vowed to make sure Sonny didn’t see Nina too soon. Since Donna took that job seriously, she found Sonny and made it clear that Nina was off-limits until the ceremony started.

In Willow Corinthos’ (Katelyn MacMullen) room, she had a nightmare about Harmony Miller (Inga Cadranel), who said she was there to protect her and warn her about something important.

However, Harmony’s lips moved with no sound again and left Willow wondering what she was trying to say.

Once Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) woke Willow up, he worried she might be sick again since she was still in bed.

Willow assured Wiley that she simply slept in before Michael appeared to tell them it was time to get ready.

Afterward, Michael met back up with Sonny, who admitted he already told Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) about his elopement. Michael was glad for peace and felt it was better if everyone moved on.

Talk turned to Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig), so Michael said he thought his brother would be happy for Sonny.

Once Michael added that he was happy for Sonny too, he gave his dad a hug.

Meanwhile, Kristina and Willow showed up to help Nina get ready for the ceremony.

That led to Nina accepting Kristina’s borrowed earrings, a new shawl from Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) and an old, blue necklace from Willow.

Willow noted that Harmony gave her the necklace on her 16th birthday and said it was supposed to bring peace, luck and protection. Nina was touched and embraced Kristina as well as Willow.

Later, Kristina texted with Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) before turning her attention to the imminent nuptials.

Before everyone joined him in the wedding area, Sonny reflected on his relationship with Nina and said a prayer in hopes that he could make this day special for her.

Back with Nina, she left Ava Jerome (Maura West) a voicemail with all the details on her elopement and hoped to have a drink to catch up once she came home.

As for Michael, he received a text from his SEC contact, who knew who turned Drew and Carly in for insider trading.

That SEC contact wanted Michael to call him back, but Wiley pushed his dad to focus on the wedding.

Once the priest was ready, Michael joined Sonny as his best man. Donna dropped petals and was followed by Wiley with the rings.

Kristina and Willow also emerged as part of the wedding party before Nina made her grand entrance, which left Sonny smiling over his lovely bride.

Back in Port Charles, Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) stopped by Josslyn Jacks’ (Eden McCoy) dorm room and admitted he had a few days off since Sonny was eloping with Nina on the island.

Josslyn found out Carly knew and that Kristina, Donna, Michael, Willow and Wiley all went to be part of the festivities.

The news left Josslyn feeling left out and irritated since she was seemingly alone in her grudge now.

Once Pilar (Brenda Barberena) knocked on the door, she expressed concern since Ava didn’t arrive to pick Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) up and couldn’t be reached.

Pilar said her mom was watching Avery, but Ava’s out-of-character behavior left her worried that something was wrong.

Josslyn wanted to leave Carly out of this for now since she had a lot on her plate, but Dex thought they could bring Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) in the loop.

After confirming that Pilar could keep Avery for a while, Josslyn and Dex teamed up to get answers.

Dex admitted to Josslyn that he definitely thought Ava was in danger, so Joss refused to sit on the sidelines.

In a basement somewhere, Ava banged on a pipe and called for help. Mason Gatlin (Nathanyael Grey) appeared and insisted she was wasting her energy since no one was coming.

After Mason talked about Ava angering his boss, he said she’d have to stay there until he received further instructions. Once Ava was alone again, she stacked boxes and tried to reach a window in hopes of escaping.

Mason returned to point out that the window was nailed shut and had bars on it, so Ava’s getaway attempt didn’t pan out.

Next, Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) thanked Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) for coming since he was up for a hardship release, which could score him early parole if it was granted.

Cyrus’ age and health problems would be factors in the judge’s decision, but he needed Dr. Gatlin-Holt to speak on his behalf and confirm that he didn’t have the capacity to harm anyone.

Austin grumbled that once he knew what was at stake, he didn’t really have a choice.

Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) also showed up to serve as Cyrus’ lawyer since he’d been paid top dollar to help him.

In the judge’s chambers, Scott talked about Cyrus being reformed now that he’d found God and mentioned his fragile condition.

Warden Garten (Diahnna Nicole Baxter) agreed that religion had made Cyrus a better person and had helped her establish trust with him.

Austin said that Cyrus’ heart attack had done irreparable damage and made him physically weak.

In fact, Austin suggested that Cyrus could be vulnerable to an attack himself if he were to remain in custody.

The judge sought confirmation that Cyrus couldn’t harm anyone upon his release, so Austin insisted that’s what he believed.

After the meeting on Thursday’s GH episode, Cyrus blessed Austin for coming and seemed pleased over how things went.

Once Cyrus was led away by guards, Austin called Mason and said he’d done what was asked of him.

Now Austin wanted Ava set free, but Mason warned that neither of them was calling the shots.

General Hospital spoilers say Ava’s situation will get worse before it gets better, so stay tuned for updates on the escalating danger.
