General Hospital (GH) recap for Tuesday, August 22, reveals that Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) shut down Dante Falconeri’s (Dominic Zamprogna) idea about hiring a bodyguard and wanted to see the proof he had regarding Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart).
Dante proved to Anna that Valentin’s car wasn’t anywhere near ELQ and that there was no water main break, so he thought this at least made Valentin a person of interest in the fire.
Anna insisted that was ridiculous, but Dante said maybe Valentin wanted Anna totally dependent on him. However, Anna said Valentin loved her – that much she was certain of.
Dante argued that Valentin had always been manipulative, but Anna thought maybe his lies had something to do with Pikeman.
After Anna mentioned the papers Valentin recently received with the Pikeman logo, Dante asked if she thought Valentin could be working for Pikeman again.
Dante also considered the possibility that maybe Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) was the target at the Metro Court pool and that Valentin was hired to set him up.
Anna insisted Valentin wouldn’t do that unless he was being blackmailed or perhaps Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) was in danger.
Although Anna wanted to prove that Valentin was clean, she told Dante that they had to dig for the truth – no matter where it led them.
In an AA meeting, Hamilton Finn (Micheal Easton) told a vague version of the story surrounding Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison).
Finn talked about how someone he cared about was suffering, but he had no clue and felt a little resentful about a friend who kept quiet.
Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) arrived late and sat in the back, so Finn didn’t realize she heard his share until the meeting was over.
Finn ultimately assured Alexis that he understood the tough position that Gregory put her in.
Alexis pointed out a lesson they just heard in the meeting about how all they had was today. Finn didn’t plan on wasting a minute and pulled Alexis into a hug.
At Pentonville, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) thought back to Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) pushing him to find a flock behind bars.
Meanwhile, Cyrus hit the showers, shaved and cut his hair like he was getting ready for a big meeting. After Cyrus talked about how God worked in mysterious ways, he said he was grateful.
Over with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), she secretly met with Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) and got reassurance that there was no reason her SEC tipoff secret would ever come out.
At Kelly’s, Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) found Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and wondered if there was anything she could do to help now that Carly had taken over the restaurant.
Carly said she was just waiting on an employee whose car broke down and that she planned to visit Drew in prison.
Willow found out Drew was recently in solitary confinement and thought it was so unfair that Drew was locked up because someone was spiteful enough to turn him in.
When Willow asked if Carly was still convinced it was Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth), Nina entered the door. Carly rushed off to see Drew, so Nina hoped she didn’t drive her away.
Willow reassured Nina and filled her in on Carly’s imminent Drew visit, which led to Willow complaining about how outrageous Drew’s prison sentence was.
The conversation eventually shifted to Nina’s marriage to Sonny, so Willow acknowledged that they’d be in each other’s lives and felt they should have some sort of relationship.
That said, Willow pointed out that it would take time, so Nina seemed to understand.
Once Carly visited Drew at Pentonville, they touched hands and expressed their love. Carly got the scoop on Drew saving Cyrus’ life and worried about the other inmates thinking Drew had an alliance with him.
At GH, Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) lurked outside Austin Gatlin-Holt’s (Roger Howarth) office as he assured Ava Jerome (Maura West) that she wasn’t going to jail for taking out Nikolas Cassadine (last played by Adam Huss).
Austin told Ava that the data would be delivered, they’d find Nikolas’ body and would move on with their lives.
Since Austin received news about a patient, he had to take off.
Jake Webber (Hudson West) brought Wyatt Hoover (Patrick J. Gibbons Jr.) to the hospital after the latter took a spill in the skate park.
Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) got updates before Austin bandaged up Wyatt’s wrist.
Wyatt was supposed to play the cello in a concert that was coming up, but Austin made it clear that wasn’t happening since he hurt the hand he used for his bow.
Next, Gregory met with Dr. Bronson (Jeffrey Stubblefield) as well as TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) since he was shadowing him.
Dr. Bronson heard about Gregory’s recent tumble at home and did an offscreen exam before offering new orders.
Gregory was told he’d be fitted for some leg braces and splints that he’d wear when he slept. When Gregory asked if he needed a cane, Dr. Bronson suggested they could hold off on that.
However, Dr. Bronson didn’t want Gregory driving, so Gregory admitted he used a car service today and had already given up driving after what happened while babysitting Violet Finn (Jophielle Love).
Back with Wyatt, he told Jake that he still planned to play cello in the concert and that he just wouldn’t tell anyone that he fell.
Gregory found out about Wyatt’s dilemma and urged him to see that he had to accept his limitations since he wouldn’t be playing his best for the band.
Back with Ava, she caught the end of Willow and Nina’s conversation at Kelly’s. Ava wondered if Nina was making progress after Willow left, so Nina thought maybe she was.
Ava started talking about how Nina’s actions put Drew in prison, but Nina insisted that secret would stay buried as long as Ava kept quiet for her.
Back in Austin’s office, Mason said it was almost showtime and that Austin had a starring role in the big finale. Despite Austin’s protests, Mason insisted that his cousin had to deliver the flash drive to the boss.
When TJ interrupted to pick up a chart, he thought maybe he’d met Mason somewhere before. Mason said he didn’t believe so, but TJ couldn’t shake the feeling that he was familiar.
Once TJ left, Mason admitted to Austin that he “may have crossed paths” with Dr. Ashford before now.
Later, someone approached Mason in an alley, so he thanked that offscreen person for taking the time to see him.
At Pentonville, Austin arrived under the guise of examining Cyrus as his doctor, but it was obvious their meeting was about so much more!
General Hospital spoilers say Cyrus will refuse to let Austin out of his tangled web, so stay tuned.
