General Hospital Recap: Tuesday, June 20 – Sam Blasts Drew for Choosing Carly Over Scout – Taggert For New Commissioner

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, June 20, reveals that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) met up with Ava Jerome (Maura West) in the park and admitted she bailed on telling Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) the truth.

After Nina explained the whole “Eddie Maine” situation, she suggested that Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) might never remember her role in tipping off the SEC.

Nina also revealed how she actually had to put her ring down the drain after lying about dropping it.

Despite Ava’s repeated warnings, Nina refused to lose Sonny and any chance of a relationship with Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen), so she felt she just had to keep walking this tightrope.

Meanwhile, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) once again tried to talk Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) out of making a plea deal, but he was determined to keep Carly out of prison.

Next, Carly stopped by Sonny’s place to let him know the SEC drama would be resolved soon, so he appreciated Drew stepping up to keep Donna Corinthos’ (Scarlett Spears) mom free.

At Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and Dante Falconeri’s (Dominic Zamprogna) penthouse, Drew delivered the news that he was taking a plea deal.

Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) was there and advised against it, but Drew stood his ground on paying a fine and doing six months at Spring Ridge if his deal was approved.

Sam eventually argued with Drew alone since she knew this would be hard on Scout Cain (Cosette Abinante).

Scout wasn’t young enough to miss Drew when she lost him the first time, but now she would truly miss her dad and would be in great pain.

Drew assured Sam that this was the best option, but she snapped that it was only the best option for Carly.

Nevertheless, Drew felt this it what he had to do and wanted to find a way to explain things to Scout with Sam.

Back at Sonny’s penthouse, there was some awkwardness as Nina and Ava walked in to find him with Carly.

After Carly left, Sonny explained that Drew was going to prison so that Carly didn’t have to.

In a moment alone with Ava, Nina fumed over Carly getting off scot-free and felt that Carly should be the one behind bars, not Drew.

Ava felt this worked out better since Carly’s continued freedom meant Nina had a better chance of forgiveness if the truth came out. Nina insisted that was a small comfort!

At one point, Sonny gave Nina her engagement ring back since the plumber had retrieved it from the drain.

Once Sonny warned Nina not to take it off again, she assured him that she never would.

As for Carly, she showed up at Sam’s place and expected her to lash out.

However, Sam understood that it was ultimately Drew’s choice and that Carly did try to talk him out of his plea deal.

Later, Sam spoke to Dante about the dilemma and decided she’d make a treasure chest with Scout filled with report cards, artwork and all the other things Drew would miss while he was gone.

In the park, Carly wondered what she’d do without Drew when he went to prison.

Drew insisted they’d get through it and would make the most of their remaining time together now.

At GH, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) had a chat with Epiphany Johnson’s (Sonya Eddy) photo on the memorial wall and promised she wouldn’t let her down as the new head nurse.

In Dr. Sofia Navarro’s (Christina Ferraro) office, she met with Molly Lansing-Davis (currently played by Holiday Mia Kriegel) and TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow).

Before Molly began hormone therapy, she wanted to harvest her eggs and freeze them to keep all their options open.

TJ assured Molly that he was open to using a surrogate, so Dr. Navarro moved forward with testing to see how many viable eggs they could expect.

When TJ ran into Alexis, he filled her in and got advice to focus on the baby they’d get out of all this – one way or another.

Later, Dr. Navarro had some results to deliver following Molly’s latest tests.

Over with Amy Driscoll (Risa Dorken), she apologized to Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) for waking her up since she thought the exam room was empty.

Elizabeth overheard and wondered why Portia slept at work instead of home with Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner).

Portia admitted she wanted to avoid Curtis since he did something hurtful.

It left Portia worried that she’d want to hurt Curtis in return and that she might say something in anger that she couldn’t take back.

Liz wondered if Portia still wanted a life with Curtis, so first she confirmed she did – then she said she didn’t know.

Portia was a mess of emotions, but Liz had to cut their conversation short due to a flood of texts related to her head nurse duties.

Elizabeth gently scolded Amy for spilling confidential info to Alexis about Ned and eventually realized Portia had disappeared.

When Marcus Taggert (Real Andrews) stopped by Jordan’s office, he apologized for “being such an ass” yesterday. Jordan was just glad to see that Taggert had sobered up.

After Taggert admitted he needed a job, he asked if there was room for another detective at the PCPD. Jordan suspected Taggert was staying in Port Charles because he was afraid Curtis would replace him in Trina’s life.

Although Jordan didn’t have a detective position open, she offered Taggert her own position instead.

Jordan explained that she was set to become the new deputy mayor, which meant she had to find her replacement.

Taggert wondered if Jordan really thought he’d make a good police commissioner, so she reassured him and suggested she’d recommend him for the position.

Jordan couldn’t make any guarantees, but she said she’d run it up the flagpole and see if it flew.

Once Jordan was alone, Portia showed up and glared at her from the doorway, so Jordan looked like she knew exactly what this was about!

General Hospital spoilers say Jordan will face Portia’s wrath soon enough, so stick with us for updates on all the hostility ahead.
