General Hospital Recap: Tuesday, September 12 – Michael & Sonny’s Tearful Breakthrough – Cody Accused of Working for Evil Doc

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, September 12, reveals that the softball teams gathered to celebrate their victories and joke about their defeats at Charlie’s Pub. Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) was glad to do something normal and cheer in the stands, so she expressed that to Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) before he had to rush off and deal with something.

Since Michael had been reflecting on the whole situation with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) earlier, Willow seemingly had a hunch that he was going to see his father.

Once Jake Webber (Hudson West) and Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) came in together, Violet Finn (Jophielle Love) was eager to find out if it was a date.

Willow gently urged Violet not to pester Charlotte and Jake since they might get shy.

Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) hinted to Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) that Jake and Charlotte were awfully young for dating, but Finn didn’t think it looked serious or like anything to worry about.

Liz teased Finn about whether he’d feel the same way about Violet when she started dating, but Finn didn’t even want to imagine that!

Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) bought the first round of drinks, so Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) shared a toast to Sonny’s dismissed charges.

Chase thought it was odd for the FBI to make such a public arrest if they weren’t certain about it, so he said something didn’t add up.

Soon after, Chase got a phone call about the APB that had been put out on two escaped Ferncliff patients, so Dante assumed the runaways were Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) and Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson).

At Sonny’s penthouse, Sonny was glad to be home with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and apologized for scaring her.

Nina insisted Sonny didn’t have to be sorry since it was the FBI, but Sonny hinted that it wasn’t entirely their fault.

Sonny confessed that he knew there was no chance that he was going to be convicted and offered updates on the crates filled with coffee beans.

When Sonny said somebody must’ve offered bad info, Nina asked if he was saying he set up the FBI.

Sonny clarified that someone else was the target and explained how he let them steal info that Brick (Stephen A. Smith) dummied up.

Although Sonny wished he could’ve told Nina sooner, he suggested this was the reality of his life.

Nina assured Sonny that she understood what she was getting into and had no regrets.

There would be complications, but they were a small price to pay for the happiness of being with Sonny.

Nina and Sonny leaned in for a kiss right as Michael arrived, so he spoke to his dad alone while Nina got a text and took off.

That gave Michael a chance to reflect on his childhood and how they used to visit the island when things got dangerous.

Michael remembered how he just to make up stories and plays games with Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig) – like the time they pretended they were on Never Neverland guarding Sonny against Captain Hook.

Sonny smiled over some Morgan memories before Michael talked about knowing the police were one of the threats Sonny faced.

After Sonny wondered what Michael was getting at, Michael reflected on the times when he wished his father would be prosecuted and convicted.

Now Michael realized he didn’t want Sonny to be sent to prison – and he was tired of being angry with Sonny, too.

Michael didn’t want to destroy Sonny and didn’t like the person that his resentment had turned him into.

With all that in mind, Michael admitted he was happy Sonny beat the charges.

Sonny acknowledged that Michael didn’t have to say all that, but he appreciated it and promised that Michael would always be his son no matter what.

After Sonny and Michael confessed that they loved each other with teary eyes, Michael headed out.

At Ferncliff, Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) was horrified when she overheard Nurse Janice (Lauren Swickard) telling a cop about Sasha and Cody fleeing together.

Gladys immediately freaked out and wondered how they could let Cody kidnap Sasha, but Janice pointed out that they didn’t know if this was a case of kidnapping or if Sasha had willingly escaped with him.

At home on Tuesday’s GH episode, Dante talked to Sam about Cody and Sasha’s getaway since he knew she’d arranged everything.

That left Dante hoping it all worked out like Sam planned.

After Gladys met up with Nina, she exclaimed that Sasha had been kidnapped by Cody.

Nina argued that Cody might’ve rescued Sasha instead, but Gladys was adamant that Cody was rotten and speculated that he was working on Dr. Damon Montague’s (Darin Toonder) orders.

Once Cody arrived at a remote cabin with Sasha, he found a key under the wood pile since Sam left it there.

Cody took Sasha inside and kept encouraging her to drink water, but she had a moment of panic and thought he was Dr. Montague.

However, Cody assured Sasha that Dr. Montague was out of the picture and that he wouldn’t let anybody hurt her again.

Sasha was in a lot of pain due to detoxing and initially refused the water Cody offered.

Although Sasha had lost the will to live, Cody pushed her to do it for Liam Corbin and Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor).

It was important to honor Brando and Liam’s memory instead of disgracing it.

Sasha lashed out at Cody since she felt he had no right to talk about Liam and Brando, but Cody just wanted her to fight and stay strong.

Unfortunately, Sasha felt that every person she ever loved was gone.

After Sasha said she had nobody left, Cody insisted that she had him and vowed not to leave her.

Sasha eventually drank some water and learned that Sam hooked them up with the car as well as the cabin.

Cody told Sasha that she was free from Dr. Montague and that she’d never have to go through anything like that again.

Once Cody urged Sasha to sleep, he promised to stay right by her side and reiterated that no one was going to hurt her.

Sasha reached out for Cody’s hand and clutched it as she tried to get some rest.

General Hospital spoilers say Cody and Sasha still have some twists and turns ahead of them, so stay tuned.
