General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Wednesday, April 26, reveals that Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) headed down to the bunker in Greenland, where he got his henchman to open a locked box that contained the pathogen.
Victor made sure the prisoners were fetched so Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali), Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) and Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) could witness the dawning of a new age.
Once Victor finally had the pathogen canister in his hands, he ordered Liesl to make sure it was still viable and that the antidote was still effective, too.
Victor started to open the canister, but Liesl stopped him out of fear that he’d make the pathogen airborne. However, Victor explained that it could only be activated by UV light.
Once Liesl did her initial scientific evaluation, she said the pathogen had degraded and that it was no longer effective.
Victor called Liesl’s bluff and suggested they should send her up to the surface to check, so she called him a “bastard” and acknowledged that she lied.
The pathogen was still intact, but Liesl needed a human subject to test the antidote. As Victor turned to Spencer and Trina, he pointed out that they indeed had multiple human subjects.
Spencer warned that Liesl couldn’t do this, but Victor warned that time was running out for Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen).
If Liesl kept her end of the bargain, Victor promised to send her home with antidote doses for her loved ones.
Liesl agreed to do what Victor asked before Spencer lunged at her. Once Spencer was forced back, Victor urged Liesl to work as fast as she could for Willow’s sake.
At GH, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) and Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) figured out that Liesl was likely snatched for her skills as a brilliant researcher.
The three of them also realized Victor might have some sort of sinister biological agent that he needed Liesl’s help to activate.
That left Anna worried about Laura Collins (Genie Francis), Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner), Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) since they didn’t know what they were walking into.
Anna urged Robert to call the WSB and get backup before it was too late.
At the Quartermaine gatehouse, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) joined Willow, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) ahead of the wedding.
Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) also popped up with Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) to announce that they had a major problem.
After Maxie delivered bad news, she said she already had a solution for the hair and make-up artist whose flight was canceled.
Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) and Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) wound up pitching in with products from Deception, so Willow looked fabulous in her wedding look later.
Meanwhile, Michael was dressed for the wedding as well when he shared a drink with Chase and Dante at the main house.
Dante let Michael borrow Mike Corbin’s (Max Gail) cufflinks for the celebration and praised Michael for inviting Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), even if it was mostly because of Willow.
Back with Josslyn, she talked to Carly about Drew’s mission and knew her mom must be worried.
Carly was indeed fearful, but she soon turned her attention back to making Willow’s big day special.
After Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman) brought Donna Corinthos (Arya & Ayla Dormiani), she let Willow wear a bracelet that Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) bought her years ago.
That took care of “something old,” so Carly presented “something borrowed” in the form of a hair clip.
Next, Josslyn gave Willow some blue earrings for “something blue” – and it was decided that Amelia Corinthos (Owen and Nathan Ford) fit the bill for “something new.”
Donna told Willow that she was her sister like Josslyn and Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola), so Willow was touched over everyone making her feel like a real part of the family.
At Sonny’s penthouse, he caught Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) disconnecting from a call with her lawyer and wondered what was up.
Nina offered a vague explanation about handling a matter and claimed she wanted to open a trust for the grandchildren, too.
When Ava Jerome (Maura Wright) brought Avery over, Sonny took his daughter to the kitchen for a pre-wedding snack.
Ava noticed that Nina was holding a box, so Nina showed her a bracelet that she’d purchased to give Willow.
Although Ava acknowledged that the bracelet was beautiful, she also felt it crossed the boundary that Willow had set and might be viewed as a bribe.
Ava pushed Nina to hang onto the bracelet for the future, but Nina worried Willow wouldn’t be around to build a relationship.
After Avery hugged Nina and vowed to save her some cake, she was ready to go be Michael and Willow’s flower girl.
Ava assured Sonny that she’d keep an eye on Nina, so he took off with Avery.
Nina pointed out that she didn’t need a babysitter, but Ava wanted to offer support and ended up listening to Nina vent about Carly.
Nina insisted Carly never faced consequences and hinted about balancing the scales, so Ava looked suspicious as she asked what Nina did.
At the Quartermaine mansion, Sonny interrupted Dante’s conversation with Michael and hoped that his support would be accepted today.
Michael was over the moon about marrying Willow, but Sonny knew Michael wished Liesl could be found in time for the bone marrow transplant.
Chase piped up to insist that if anyone deserved to have fate on her side, it was Willow.
