General Hospital Recap: Wednesday, July 19 – Sasha’s Cyrus Vision Ends in Disaster – Curtis Wakes Up – Spencer’s Love Tested

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Wednesday, July 19, reveals that Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) met with Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) ahead of her interview with a Crimson journalist who was very sympathetic to Sasha’s situation.

Maxie pointed out that the blind item about the model shoplifting didn’t specifically name Sasha, so she didn’t have to go through with this.

However, Gladys trusted Sasha’s impulse to get out ahead of the story and fumed when Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) showed up since he could be a distraction.

While Maxie warned Cody to keep his distance, Gladys reminded Sasha to take her meds.

Sasha popped a pill and had second thoughts about going through with the interview, but the reporter arrived before she could cancel.

Once Maxie rejoined Sasha and helped oversee things, Gladys went over to berate Cody.

The interviewer wound up asking about Sasha’s past – including Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) – so he was on Sasha’s mind when she started hallucinating.

Sasha imagined that Cyrus was there with Gladys and freaked out until he went back to being Cody.

When Cody and Gladys’ faceoff escalated, he grabbed her arm as Sasha hallucinated again.

Sasha rushed over and grabbed a knife, which she put through Cody’s back since she thought he was Cyrus.

As Cody fell to the ground in shock, he asked Sasha why.

At The Invader, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) found Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) digging through boxes and combing through documents, so she demanded answers.

Esme pointed out that the documents involved her, so she asked if Alexis was researching her and if she hired her because of some story.

Alexis argued that she didn’t have to explain herself, but she offered an explanation anyway since a reporter wanted to do a retrospective piece on Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) and Heather Webber’s (Alley Mills) reign of terror.

Esme begged Alexis not to publish that story and thought Alexis should understand since people judged her for her link to the Cassadines.

Nevertheless, Alexis made it clear that she was calling the shots and didn’t think that was a fair comparison.

Esme had a past whether she remembered it or not, so Alexis said she didn’t trust her – and neither did anyone else. If Esme wanted to change that, Alexis suggested she’d have to face her past and what she’d done.

Esme managed to steal a newspaper from one of the boxes and looked at it outside the door moments later. The headline said that Heather had been moved to Pentonville, so Esme mulled over that news.

At Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) penthouse, Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) was upset over applying for the wrong building permit, but she vowed to handle it herself instead of letting Sonny fix it.

Kristina got updates on Alexis pushing Sonny to have a conversation with her, so she wasn’t happy about her mom talking about her behind her back.

Although Kristina kept things vague, she said she made an offer to help Molly Lansing-Davis (Brooke Anne Smith) that was apparently the worst thing she’s ever done in her whole life.

Kristina felt Molly and TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) thought of her as the self-serving college dropout who couldn’t be trusted.

Sonny realized Kristina had made an impulsive decision, so he advised her to figure out why she was so determined to help.

After Sonny mentioned Kristina having multiple motives when it came to her foundation, he implied that could be true for this offer to Molly, too.

Sonny stressed the importance of having a real conversation with Molly before Kristina thanked him for the support.

Despite the fact that Kristina sometimes felt so alone in her family, Sonny assured her that she wasn’t.

At Sam McCall’s (Kelly Monaco) place, Molly came blowing in and complained about how she was sick of always having to tiptoe around Kristina’s feelings.

Now Molly’s infertility issues were becoming about Kristina’s surrogacy suggestion.

Sam thought it sounded like Molly’s problem was more about the family dynamic, but Molly insisted it was about Kristina always being the center of attention.

After Sam defended Kristina’s good intentions, Molly lashed out at her for taking their sister’s side.

Sam just meant that Kristina would never intentionally want to hurt Molly, but Molly pointed out that she still did.

Molly said that having a kid wasn’t a big deal to Kristina, who didn’t even want one. Meanwhile, Molly desperately wanted to get pregnant and couldn’t, so she didn’t think that was fair.

Since Kristina was clueless about how sad Molly was, Sam suggested that Molly should be direct about all the reasons why.

Molly was tired of always being the bigger person, so she said Kristina needed to figure this one out on her own.

If Kristina couldn’t do that, Molly hinted that maybe they’d need some time apart.

When Kristina showed up and barged in Sam’s place later, she came face to face with Molly.

At Kelly’s, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) met Marcus Taggert (Réal Andrews) for breakfast, but things were awkward in the aftermath of the DNA results.

Taggert understood why Trina was focused on Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) right now, so Trina pointed out that she didn’t know what she’d do if she lost the chance to get to know him.

Once Trina headed back to GH, a somber Taggert looked at a pic of them together on his phone and pulled out a flask to spike his coffee.

In Curtis’ hospital room, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) once again urged him to wake up right as Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) arrived.

Spencer found out Trina was out to breakfast with Taggert, so he parked himself in the waiting area.

Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) mentioned that Spencer had stuck around, so Portia approached him soon after.

Portia made it clear that some of the worst moments in Trina’s life happened because of Spencer, but he argued that Trina had stood by him anyway.

Although Spencer thought they were good for each other, Portia didn’t think Spencer made Trina happy at all.

Spencer acknowledged that his living arrangement with Esme wasn’t ideal, but he was kind of stuck right now.

Portia didn’t see why Trina had to be stuck too, but Spencer couldn’t turn his back on Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay).

After Portia suggested the mature thing to do would be to let her daughter go, Trina arrived and was excited to find Spencer waiting for her.

Once Marshall saw Curtis’ fingers move, he called out for Portia to come quickly since Curtis seemed to be waking up. Curtis finally opened his eyes, so Portia, Trina and Marshall were overjoyed.

General Hospital spoilers say Curtis’ recovery may come with some major challenges, so stay tuned.
