General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Wednesday, May 31, reveals that Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) held off on opening the box Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) left him. Laura Collins (Genie Francis) was surprised when Victor left a video message for Nikolas Cassadine (last played by Adam Huss) next.
Victor suggested that Nikolas would need a home away from home and trusted that Spencer would take care of his father’s gift in the meantime.
Spencer accepted an envelope from Victor’s attorney as Laura wondered if maybe Victor knew where Nikolas was.
Once Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) joined the will reading, Victor talked about sins eventually catching up with them and said he was leaving her the truth.
As for Laura, Victor told her to live the rest of her life in peace knowing she was indeed a worthy adversary.
After Spencer opened Nikolas’ envelope, he saw that it contained the deed to a property and was written in Russian.
Anna was distracted over Victor’s message, but she knew some Russian and drew attention to the address that was listed.
Spencer researched that address and found that the property was in Chechnya, so Laura wondered why Victor left Nikolas property there.
Ava advised against a wild goose chase that could set Laura up for disappointment, but Laura felt she had to investigate.
If there was a chance to find Nikolas, Laura had to take it.
Ava was skeptical, but Laura suggested maybe they could bring Nikolas home.
Once Spencer was alone, he opened the small box that Victor had given him and found the doves that his great-uncle had saved. Spencer also found a key at the bottom of the box.
At GH, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) pushed Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) to turn on Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) since he belonged in prison, but her mom didn’t.
Carly refused to let someone else pay for her mistakes – and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) piped up about Joss needing to respect their mom’s choice.
Josslyn said Michael knew all about making choices that hurt people, so Carly wondered what was going on between the siblings.
After Carly got called away for a phone call, Michael pushed Josslyn to drop this since Carly didn’t need anything else on her plate.
Josslyn argued that Carly and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) could save themselves if Michael gave them the recording that Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) made.
Once Joss pointed out that Michael could protect Carly from prison, she urged him to give that video to Carly and tell her to take it to the feds.
Carly wound up running into TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow), who shared some positive updates with everyone on Willow Corinthos’ (Katelyn MacMullen) completed bone marrow transplant.
After TJ talked about the next steps, he was optimistic about Willow making a full recovery.
Carly pushed Michael and Josslyn to focus on the importance of family, so Josslyn trusted that Michael would do the right thing and left Carly looking suspicious.
Once Sonny met up with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) at the Metro Court, they talked about their wedding until Anna appeared.
Nina gave Anna a big hug and expressed her gratitude for everything she did to help Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati), who was able to save Willow’s life.
Suddenly, a couple of WSB agents showed up and arrested Anna, but she was hauled off to a secure location without learning the reason why.
At The Invader, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) arrived to find Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) freaking out over a major work blunder.
Esme feared she’d get fired on her first day, but Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) was trying to calm her down as Alexis entered.
Gregory explained that Esme accidentally sent an email containing a source to a global address, but he stepped up to help her do damage control.
Although Alexis was irritated over Esme leaking sensitive information, she gave her another chance since it was just her first day.
After Alexis ordered Esme to clock out, she expressed surprise about Gregory popping up to help since he’d been ghosting her.
Gregory now realized how much he needed a friend and eventually agreed to accept the position on the board since it was still open.
Back at the hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) worried that the DNA results could change everything if Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) was her biological father.
Marcus Taggert (Réal Andrews) reassured Trina, but she still worried that she’d hurt Taggert if she grew closer to Curtis and her new relatives.
Taggert argued that they’d always be part of each other’s lives and made it clear that Trina would always be his daughter no matter what.
After Curtis convinced Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) to come with him to the hospital, Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) gave Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) a pep talk about getting her own relationship with Curtis back on track.
Once Portia and Curtis arrived at GH, they joined Trina and Taggert as the DNA results were delivered.
Trina opened them and revealed that Curtis was her biological father, so Taggert assured her that it was OK.
Although Trina knew she needed to figure out where to go from here with Curtis, she wanted him to know that she wasn’t looking for a replacement dad.
Curtis understood and said he’d never want to take her father’s place.
Taggert pointed out that Trina could do worse than having two dads, especially when Curtis was such a good man.
After Taggert said he’d leave them to work all this out, he got on the elevator and became visibly distraught over the news.
Taggert threw some punches before sinking to the floor of the elevator in despair.
General Hospital spoilers say Trina will battle some regrets despite wanting to know the truth, so stay tuned.
