General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) could score an early prison release and shake things up. There are some good reasons for GH writers to potentially bring Cyrus back full-time and make him a free man again.
For starters, Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) is hoping to escape Port Charles, so that’ll leave this town without a major villain to run the show.
There are certainly some immoral characters here and there, but PC needs someone who’s extremely powerful and dangerous – someone worthy of sliding in Victor’s villainous spot once he’s gone.
Of course, the easiest way to pull that off is to put a familiar face back in the mix. Cyrus previously wreaked havoc all over Port Charles and could do it again if he scores his freedom.
Although Cyrus claims to have found God behind bars, but he’s still got a ruthless side and isn’t afraid to use it. Laura has always doubted Cyrus’ religious claims anyway, so there’s the potential for Cyrus to be as cutthroat as ever once he’s back on the outside.
The writers had a chance to kill Cyrus off, but they stuck him in the slammer instead. We have to believe that’s because they hoped to free Cyrus and work him back into some other stories down the road.
Since Cyrus was responsible for the bomb that blew up The Floating Rib and put Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) in a coma, perhaps he should be roaming around PC once Lulu awakens.
That’d give Lulu a chance to rip into Cyrus once she’s back on her feet and working to reclaim her life. Lulu may find herself struggling due to all the time she’s missed – especially with Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and her kids.
Lulu deserves an opportunity to blast Cyrus that and voice her outrage over him potentially getting out of prison early. It could stir up more anger on Laura Collins’ (Genie Francis) end of things as well.
Cyrus previously offered to help Laura take Victor down, so maybe he has information that could prove useful. If Cyrus could aid with Victor’s takedown that might go a long way toward his freedom status.
