General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Dex Heller’s (Evan Hofer) plan to leave the mob may not work out for multiple reasons. Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) recently told Milo Giambetti (Drew Cheetwood) that he was one of the few who got out and lived, so that says a lot about Dex’s situation.
Dex is currently working as Michael Corinthos’ (Chad Duell) plant in Sonny’s organization, but it’s easy to see there’s more to it than that.
Deep down, it seems like Dex enjoys his job working for Sonny – not to mention he’s getting pretty good at it.
There’ll never be another Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), but the show obviously needs that type of character by Sonny’s side.
Dex didn’t hesitate to jump in the water and fish out Deputy Mayor Eileen Ashby (Heather Mazur) like a good right-hand man should.
GH writers have spent all this time molding Dex into this Jason-ish character.
Dex also respects and admires Sonny despite all his criminal activity, so there may be the potential for his continued employment.
Sonny will obviously be furious when he finds out Michael hired Dex, but he’s not quite as ruthless in his post-Nixon Falls era.
Dex may survive Sonny’s wrath and eventually score another chance to prove himself for real.
Plus, Dex saved Sonny’s life and might do it again depending on the danger that’s lurking around the corner.
Sonny is a good judge of character and may decide that Dex couldn’t possibly have been faking his loyalty completely.
Josslyn doesn’t like all the risks Dex has to take due to all this mob business and is looking forward to the day he’s done.
Unfortunately, that day may not come if Dex strikes a deal with Sonny and delivers bad news to Joss.
There may be an opportunity for Dex to fall on his sword and convince Sonny that this is truly the life he wants now.
Dex may have to convince Josslyn of that too and see if she’s willing to accept him working for Sonny permanently.
It feels like the show’s pushing Josslyn into a scenario that’s similar to the one Carly faced through her friendship with Jason and past romance with Sonny.
If you love someone with mob ties, sometimes sacrifices must be made.
General Hospital spoilers say Dex could force Josslyn to make some tough choices about their future, so stay tuned for updates on what’s next for this couple.
