General Hospital (GH) spoilers indicate that Victor Cassadine’s (Charles Shaughnessy) lethal pathogen is still effective after all these years locked up in the bunker. Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) confirmed the news and will soon make sure the antidote undergoes the proper testing, too.
However, Liesl pointed out that she’d need human subjects for the next step.
If Obrecht’s going to test the antidote’s effectiveness, she has to know how a person will respond to it after being exposed to the pathogen.
Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) and Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) are being forced into the guinea pig position, but there’s a chance someone else will volunteer to take their place.
That person could be Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) since GH spoilers say he’ll make a tempting offer during the week of May 1-5.
Even so, Victor has a soft spot for Cassadine family members and may change his mind about how he’s handling the situation.
Perhaps Victor will determine that there’s still hope for Spencer and decide against testing him.
Since Spencer would never cooperate if any harm came to Trina, she may be off the table or have the natural immunity Victor a small percentage of people have.
Valentin’s offer might be rejected if he tries to step up as a volunteer and save the others.
Victor could decide the last of the Cassadines – even the wayward ones – must be preserved and opt for an unrelated human subject.
It’s easy to imagine Drew jumping in once he arrives and taking the risk so no one else has to.
Drew is a hero at his core, so he might agree to be exposed to the pathogen and take the antidote to see if it’ll work.
After all, Drew and the others don’t know just how serious the situation is yet.
Victor will have the ultimate leverage since he’s willing to sacrifice himself and everyone else if things go south.
Until Drew, Valentin, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and Laura Collins (Genie Francis) can get some backup, at least some of them may get stuck in the hostage crisis as well.
That may bring a dilemma where the gang has to play by Victor’s rules to appease him for a while.
Regardless, there have been plenty of hints about Drew landing in grave danger.
The fact that Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) so worried could mean Drew will end up in a fight for his life.
This antidote may not work as well as it should after decades, so Drew may run into some trouble following this potential pathogen exposure.
