General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) could run into more trouble than he bargained for behind bars. Ever since Drew found out he’d be doing his time in scary Pentonville instead of cushy Spring Ridge, he’s been warned about keeping his eyes open and looking out for himself.
Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) has some guys behind bars who are going to watch out for Drew as well, but they can’t be there all the time.
Drew will inevitably have moments when he’s alone in risky situations, so there’s the potential for a showdown to go horribly wrong.
Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) armed Drew through the little gift he offered in that hollowed-out Bible, but Drew probably won’t want to risk using it.
Instead, Drew may have to rely on his fists to defend himself if a faceoff happens – and one likely will when you consider all the hints the show’s been dropping about the threat to his safety.
At some point, Drew could end up seriously wounded.
If Drew’s condition is bad enough in the aftermath of whatever conflict is brewing, he could be rushed to GH instead of the prison infirmary.
If Drew has a medical emergency that requires surgery or another form of urgent treatment, it could come with a silver lining.
It’s possible Zeke Robinson (Gavin Houston) could use the fact that Drew’s being targeted as proof that his sentence is too harsh.
Drew might get some time shaved off or at least score a transfer to Spring Ridge, which is where he originally wanted to serve it.
In other words, a crisis like this could turn out to be a blessing in disguise.
If Drew faces a medical emergency and it doesn’t change his circumstances, then perhaps it could force him to reconsider Cyrus’ offer.
Cyrus pushed Drew to join his prison group that meets twice a week in the library, so Drew might feel compelled to attend and become part of Cyrus’ protected circle.
A move like that would come with risks of its own, but Drew could use Cyrus’ protection during his Pentonville stay – especially if he makes some new enemies that start making life miserable for him.
