General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Esme Prince’s (Avery Pohl) view of Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) is starting to change. Instead of looking at Spencer as a threat who could take Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay) away, Esme is seemingly beginning to see him as a fill-in dad for her son.
With Nikolas Cassadine (last played by Adam Huss) out of the picture, Esme has come to rely on Spencer’s help.
After Esme came to injured Spencer’s aid recently, they had a significant talk about their shared past – which even included a sweet snow globe memory.
It looks like Esme wants Spencer back, so how far will she go to make that happen?
Everyone who knew “the old Esme” has been concerned about the possibility that she’ll show her true colors – with or without her memories!
Esme claims to be a new person, but she may be the same at her core. Perhaps it’s just a matter of Esme wanting something enough to bring out the sinister schemer within.
Esme drugged Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) at the cabin and later filmed Josslyn Jacks’ (Eden McCoy) first time hitting the sheets with Cameron Webber (William Lipton).
GH fans will recall that Esme used that whole situation to frame Trina and nearly sent her to prison, so that’s the kind of person she is deep down.
Of course, we can’t forget that Esme drugged Oz Haggerty (Max Faugno) as well, so she’s established a pattern. What if Spencer becomes Esme’s next drugging victim?
This could be when “the old Esme” first starts to truly emerge, so let’s consider how this might play out.
It’s easy to imagine Esme slipping something in Spencer’s drink that would cause him to conk out and be hazy on the details when he awoke.
Perhaps Esme could lower Spencer’s inhibitions enough for a kiss and let him jump to the wrong conclusions in the aftermath.
Esme might stage a cheating scene in bed and arrange for Trina to walk in on them under the covers together.
Maybe Esme’s goal could be to trick Trina into believing drunk Spencer betrayed her so that she’ll dump him.
Naturally, Spencer could catch on fast and realize Esme’s game, but that probably wouldn’t stop her from trying to pull something like this.
“The old Esme” always thought she was the smartest one in the room who could get away with anything, so the new Esme may come to believe that, too.
A delusional Esme might hope she can convince Spencer that she’s blameless and pick up the pieces of his broken heart once Trina walks away.
Even if Esme comes to realize Spencer will never love her like he loves Trina, she could try to use this same scenario to end their relationship out of spite.
Bottom line, GH writers have given us plenty of hints about “the old Esme” returning in some form.
Esme’s scheming side may just be dormant and waiting for the perfect trigger to set it off, so stay tuned for updates on her next plot.
