General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) seems to be on the verge of a major memory breakthrough. Ever since Esme woke up in the hospital following her ordeal in the harbor, she’s been in the dark on who she is and everything that happened leading up to that.
Esme has always been conniving, so plenty of people have doubted that she even had amnesia to begin with.
That goes for some suspicious characters and even some viewers who have struggled to buy the idea.
However, it’s hard to believe Esme would’ve been acting so terrified of Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) when they were out in the woods alone.
There was genuine fear in Esme’s eyes – like she legitimately viewed Ryan as a monster, which certainly isn’t how she would’ve behaved if she had all her memories intact.
The show has gone to great lengths to prove Esme’s amnesia is real, but that doesn’t mean it’ll last forever!
In fact, they just offered the first sign that Esme’s memories are on the verge of returning in the February 24 episode.
When Esme was talking to Mac Scorpio (John J. York) about her baby, she automatically referred to him as “Ace.”
That was the name Esme called her baby when he was still in the womb at Wyndemere since she viewed him as her ace in the hole.
Esme insisted the name just sort of popped out, but she thought it sounded right. As Esme mulled over where the name came from, her confusion once again seemed legitimate.
It seems like Esme has remembered something without really understanding that it’s a memory.
This could be exactly what Esme needs to get the ball rolling on a full-blown memory flood.
There are some intriguing GH spoilers ahead that could pertain to Esme’s memories coming back to her, so let’s talk about them.
During the week of March 6-10, Esme will gain a new perception.
Viewers will see Esme’s view change, so this makes it seem like a disguised way of saying she’ll remember what she’s lost.
However, knowing the old Esme as well as we do, there’s a good chance she’ll keep the news of these returned memories to herself.
Esme is being treated differently – at least by most people – due to her amnesiac state and may not want that to stop.
Since Esme’s amnesia has been helping her on the path to redemption in Port Charles, it’s easy to imagine her telling Ace that her memory flood will be their little secret!
