General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) may follow through on a desire she expressed shortly after Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay) was snatched. Since Esme was so terrified for her baby boy, she insisted she was going to leave town with him just as soon as they were reunited.
Of course, Laura Collins (Genie Francis) advised against making any hasty decisions.
Esme’s emotions were all over the place and she was dealing with a head injury, so Laura didn’t want her to commit to taking Ace out of Port Charles.
However, that quick getaway option is always going to be in the back of Esme’s mind.
Nothing but bad news has come from Ace’s connection to the Cassadine clan, so it’s easy to see why Esme would want to create some distance.
It’s true that Laura Collins (Genie Francis) has been unbelievably kind to Esme, but kindness can only go so far.
GH spoilers say Esme will eventually be reunited with Ace, but she may fear some other Cassadine threat will come along and separate them again.
Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) feels like Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) has blown any shot he might’ve had at scoring custody, but Esme could still end up fearful of what the future holds.
If Esme’s memories return, that’d be another reason for her to bolt with the baby.
Esme might want to vanish before anyone realizes she no longer has amnesia since she could get charged and go on trial.
Regardless, Esme herself has introduced the possibility of leaving PC with Ace once he’s safely in her arms again.
The show has a golden opportunity here since Cameron Webber (William Lipton) recently left for California.
Cameron is now at Stanford University since he got a soccer scholarship, but William Lipton will return once his real-life college semester concludes.
Cam will be back onscreen this summer, so maybe he could tie in with Esme’s storyline and potential Port Charles escape.
Perhaps Esme will decide sunny California is the perfect place for a fresh start and fly there with Ace.
It’d be great if Esme could run into Cameron, who previously talked her out of fleeing PC.
Cameron could have another helpful chat with Esme and bring a big surprise with him when he comes home for the summer.
It’d be a fun twist if Cam convinced Esme and Ace to return with him.
Regardless, Esme may not be sold on staying in town with Ace after everything that’s happened, so her reunion with him could indeed bring the temptation to run.
