General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) could be in for a shock once she regains consciousness. GH fans saw that Esme was out cold the end of the April 7 episode, so she was obviously attacked during Ace Cassadine’s (Jay and Joey Clay) kidnapping.
Of course, this brings the prime opportunity for a twist.
Esme lost her memories due to the trauma of her tumble into the harbor, so she’s got amnesia and honestly doesn’t want to remember the person she used to be.
However, there’s no way the show will keep Esme in her current state forever.
There’s much more drama to explore if Esme gets her memories back and has to deal with what that means for her now.
Although Esme’s amnesia is more of a psychological block, there’s still the potential for a major bump on the noggin to shake things loose!
Naturally, it’s possible Esme got her memories back already and hasn’t told anyone. Esme has always been a crafty wildcard character, so no one can rule that out.
Even so, we can’t ignore this easy route to total recall.
Assuming Esme has still been telling the truth about her amnesia, it’d be a great writing strategy to have a blow to the head affect things.
What if Esme wakes up and suddenly remembers all her horrible transgressions?
Esme would surely want to keep faking her condition since amnesia can only benefit her right now.
In the meantime, GH writers could find some way to alert the audience to what Esme has recalled.
They might show a little memory montage of Esme’s awful behavior or even just have her talk to herself at some point.
Esme may pretend she remembers nothing – only to declare in private that no one has to know she remembers every last detail!
Bottom line, Esme presumably just took a nasty blow to the head since she’s unconscious on the floor, so this could be when she’ll finally remember her crimes and hurtful behavior.
