General Hospital Spoilers: Lexi Ainsworth Speaks Out On ‘Mutually Beneficial Decision’ to Leave GH as Kristina Corinthos-Davis

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Lexi Ainsworth (ex-Kristina Corinthos-Davis) recently spoke out about her exit from the ABC soap in a video that was posted on her Instagram account. Fans are still reeling from the shocking recast news, so Ainsworth wanted to address her departure and offer up a goodbye message.

Kate Mansi (ex-Abigail Deveraux DiMera on Days of Our Lives) will be replacing Ainsworth when she first airs during the week of May 22-26, so plenty of people are curious about what happened behind the scenes.

Ainsworth kept things vague for the most part as she talked about her 10 transformative years on the show and announced that she was leaving GH.

It turns out Ainsworth was looking forward to the upcoming storyline because it was inspired by a personal experience of hers,

but she pointed out that she was writing her own story and hoped it’d be inspiring to other women once it was completed.

Ainsworth insisted that although General Hospital has remained a priority up to now, she’s also been interested in new career opportunities that align with her evolving interests and goals.

“And I’m confident that this mutually beneficial decision will lead to new endeavors where I will continue to grow and expand my talent beyond the industry,” Ainsworth said.

The former GH star went on to address the fans and express her deepest appreciation for all the support she’d been given during her time in Port Charles.

Ainsworth noted that the fans’ loyalty had been an inspiration, so she’d be forever grateful.

The show wouldn’t be what it is without all the loyal viewers out there, so Ainsworth wanted to thank everyone.

Now Ainsworth plans to continue carving out a space for herself where she can be an “active part of the creative process” and explore some of the new opportunities she talked about, so we wish her the best of luck!

Ainsworth wrapped up her video by admitting it’s hard to say goodbye, but she also suggested this exit “ultimately freed” her for what she’s meant to be pursuing.

As for what’s next, Ainsworth mentioned that she’d be in a new episode of NCIS on May 22, so she’s hoping fans will check it out and stay tuned for updates on her other projects.

We’ll be sure to fill you in on any story-related details as Kate Mansi’s debut as Kristina Corinthos-Davis gets closer.
