General Hospital Spoilers: Nina’s ‘Die Trying’ Clue Seals Fate – Willow Fears Losing Bio Mom Forever?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) seemingly offered a grim hint about where her story’s headed. There are good reasons to think Nina will face a near-death experience that shifts Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) perspective.

Although Willow hasn’t been quite as harsh with Nina lately, she’s still keeping her bio mom at a distance.

It’s understandable that Willow doesn’t have the extra energy to deal with Nina since she’s in a fight to survive.

However, it’s Nina who may face her own fight for survival down the road.

On the February 9 episode, Nina had a rather ominous line of dialogue that could potentially seal her fate.

During a conversation with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), Nina tried to hang onto hope for a relationship with Willow. Even if Willow didn’t accept her, Nina vowed to “die trying!”

Of course, you could argue that’s a simple figure of speech, but those tend to matter on soaps.

If fans really pay attention, it’s easy to pick up on story clues that’ll come into play later.

There’s a reason why GH writers do things like have Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) tell Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) that he’s “dead serious” – only for his father to end up dead soon after.

Hints like that are crucial, so we’d say it’s not a coincidence that Nina promised to “die trying” to gain Willow’s acceptance.

Naturally, that doesn’t mean Nina will actually die, but it could certainly mean she’ll land in grave danger.

“The Hook” still hasn’t been caught, so that’s something to keep in mind. Regardless, there’ll be plenty of danger afoot with Heather Webber (Alley Mills), Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) and Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) on the loose.

Then again, Nina’s near-death experience might transpire further down the line.

There might be a situation where Nina rescues Willow or one of her grandchildren and sacrifices her own safety in the process.

Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) once gave Nina a Japanese tanto as a gift and encouraged her to keep it close.

Will that sheathed dagger ever become part of the action?

Nina could potentially use that dagger to defend herself from someone menacing – or a villain could use it on Nina instead. Either way, it was an odd present that was never truly explained.

No matter how Nina’s deadly dilemma happens, it sounds like her life could be at stake.

Willow may be in recovery by then, so that could leave her fearing she’ll lose her bio mom without ever getting a chance to make amends.

Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) seems poised to save Willow with a bone marrow donation, but they may both end up worrying about Nina once disaster strikes. Will Willow make some updates to her view of Nina as a result?

General Hospital spoilers say Nina’s hint could mean bad news initially, but good news could follow if Willow indeed accepts her.
