General Hospital Spoilers Recap: Thursday, March 16 – Willow’s Transplant Delayed – Trina Pushes for Esme’s Freedom

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, March 16, reveals that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) shut down the conflict Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) tried to start with Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) and urged him to watch his tone.

After Spencer complained about Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) breaking up with Cameron Webber (William Lipton) to be with Dex, Sonny insisted Spencer and Dex had to coexist peacefully.

Once Sonny left for Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) place, Dex reappeared in the living room.

Spencer asked why Dex was lying to Sonny, so Dex wondered what Spencer thought he was lying about.

When Spencer suggested Dex was sneaking around with Josslyn, Dex acted like Joss wasn’t the type to do that.

At Kelly’s, Josslyn assured Cameron that Dex wasn’t like Sonny and wanted Cam to enjoy himself at Stanford instead of worrying about her.

At Spring Ridge, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) handed over Ace Cassadine’s (Jay and Joey Clay) binky and told Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) her name.

Esme recognized it and said she knew who Trina was.

However, Esme clarified that she only knew what her lawyers told her and wondered why she had hated Trina so much.

Trina asked if Esme was admitting she was guilty, but Esme couldn’t say that since she didn’t remember.

That said, Esme felt like a different person than the one everyone told her about.

After Esme assured Trina that she didn’t want to hurt anybody, she said she just wanted to be free to raise her baby.

Trina commented on the fact that Ace was Spencer’s little brother, but Esme snapped that Spencer couldn’t have her baby!

Esme also worried that Spencer sent Trina and that he might be waiting outside.

Trina told Esme that Spencer didn’t even know she was there and said she just wanted to see how Esme and the baby were doing.

Although Esme was lucky that Spring Ridge allowed her to keep Ace, she urged Esme to admit prison wasn’t the best place for a baby.

Esme acknowledged that was true, but she still refused to be separated from her child.

After Esme talked about all the love she had for Ace, Trina said she could see that.

Since Esme didn’t remember the things she had done, it didn’t seem fair for her to go to prison now – at least according to Esme, who suggested it wasn’t fair to Ace either.

Esme also pointed out that Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) had apparently influenced her, but Trina insisted no one forced Esme to drug her or record that video of Cam and Joss sleeping together.

Esme wondered if Trina knew that for sure and suggested Ryan may have threatened her. Without her memories, Esme felt there was no way to know for sure.

Esme asked if she passed the test and assumed Trina really came there to see if she was lying.

After Esme insisted she didn’t have any memory of her life before this, she added that she didn’t think she ever would.

Once Esme left the room with Ace, Trina called Josslyn and set up a meeting at Sonny’s penthouse that would also include Cam and Spencer.

At the Metro Court on Thursday’s GH episode, Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) denied being drunk and acted like his orange juice spill was just an attack of clumsiness.

Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) was still concerned about Gregory slurring his words. After offering to drive Gregory to his next appointment, Alexis asked him to hand over his car keys.

Gregory was offended, but he gave Alexis his keys and said he’d call a car.

Once Gregory told Alexis to leave the keys with the concierge, he warned that he never wanted to see her again.

Alexis gave Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) updates on the situation, so Sam checked with the bartender on duty and found out Gregory hadn’t been served alcohol.

Nevertheless, Alexis suggested Gregory might have a flask or be on pills. It was obvious to Alexis that Gregory was hiding something.

At Nina’s apartment, she was anxious for Terry Randolph (Cassandra James) to call with Liesl Obrecht’s (Kathleen Gati) final test results.

Obrecht kept ignoring Scott Baldwin’s (Kin Shriner) calls, but Nina pushed her to patch things up with him.

After Sonny arrived, Terry got in touch with Liesl over the phone.

Obrecht ultimately revealed that she would be Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) donor, but she added there was a problem.

At the Quartermaine mansion, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) was distracted by Amelia Corinthos’ (Nathan and Owen Ford) cuteness, so Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) decided she couldn’t compete and suggested a break from Nurses Ball planning.

When Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) showed up for a peek at Amelia, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) reminisced with him about when Bailey Louise Jones (London and Jett Prinzo-Berendt) was that age.

Maxie interrupted the close moment and privately urged Brook Lynn to be honest with Chase.

In the living room, Chase met Amelia and kept his fingers crossed for good news about Liesl being approved as Willow’s donor.

Once Chase reconvened with Brook Lynn, she blurted out that she wanted him.

Brook Lynn covered by acting like she meant for a Nurses Ball performance, so Chase assured her that he was in.

After Obrecht arrived, she told Willow, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Carly that she’d been cleared to donate, but they couldn’t harvest the stem cells right away.

Liesl explained that the transplant had been put on hold until some medication could get out of her system.

Back with Sonny and Nina, they discussed the transplant delay before talk turned to the incident that happened last night.

Nina learned Sonny was beefing up security, but he pointed out that she said she didn’t want to know anything about his business.

Now that there was some trouble, Nina wasn’t so sure about that decision.

At Sonny’s penthouse, things got awkward when Dex opened the door to Cameron and Josslyn. Dex let them in and excused himself to the bedroom before Trina arrived.

Trina told the others about visiting Esme and seeing her love for Ace. If Esme was faking, she was very convincing.

That’s why Trina wanted to go to the DA and ask to drop the charges against Esme.

Josslyn expressed doubt about that plan working – and Spencer was initially outraged at the notion of letting Esme walk free.

Even so, Trina wanted to get Ace out of prison since he could be stuck at Spring Ridge for months before the trial. Besides, the jury might feel sorry for Esme if she was tried in this state, so Trina didn’t think real justice would happen in that case.

Trina felt it’d be better to hold off on prosecuting Esme. That way, if Esme slipped up and showed that her memory was back, she could be tried and convicted.

After Trina insisted she’d be OK with Esme walking around free, Cameron, Josslyn and Spencer all agreed to this outcome for Ace’s sake.

Following a quick call to Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy), the whole gang arranged to see her right away.

Spencer couldn’t believe he was now hoping for Esme’s freedom, but prison was no place for an infant.

Trina didn’t think Esme was a threat to anyone, so Spencer hoped she was right.

Back at Spring Ridge, a guard delivered a letter to Esme. When Esme realized it was from Heather Webber (Alley Mills), her eyes widened as she flung it away from her in fear.

In the end, Esme grew curious, so she picked up the envelope and opened it. Once Esme unfolded the letter inside, she looked taken aback.

General Hospital spoilers say Heather could have a few more tricks up her sleeve, so stay tuned!
