General Hospital Spoilers Recap: Tuesday, September 5 – Dex’s Flash Drive Blunder – Nikolas Delays PC Return

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, September 5, reveals that Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) showed up in Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) kitchen and admitted that the FBI arrested Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).

Carly already knew and revealed that she called to warn Dex Heller (Evan Hofer), but he hadn’t been heard from since. When Carly pushed for the truth and asked if Michael changed his mind about going after Sonny, Michael confirmed that he wasn’t responsible for his father’s arrest.

Carly asked if Michael was sure that she smashed the only copy of the incriminating flash drive right as Dex appeared. Dex had been hiding out in the Quartermaine boathouse overnight, but now he faced questions about the flash drive and whether it could’ve been copied.

After Dex recalled scenes of Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) wanting Sonny’s takedown, a hungover-looking Joss showed up in the kitchen after a wild night with her friends.

Carly scolded Josslyn since she wasn’t able to reach her before Dex admitted someone turned Sonny in last night. Carly asked if it was Josslyn, who denied it and sparked more questions about what happened after the flash drive was smashed.

Dex admitted he took it and planned to burn it, but he wound up tossing the fragments in a public trash can. That left Michael and Carly worried that the feds could’ve gotten their hands on it and used their technology to retrieve evidence.

Meanwhile, Sonny refused to cooperate as FBI interrogators tried to pry information out of him regarding Pikeman. Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) eventually arrived and backed Sonny up about being a coffee importer.

Diane also shut down the interrogation, but she warned that she wouldn’t be able to get bail posted on the NSA charges. Sonny was ultimately led away in handcuffs since he’d have to wait 72 hours until he could go before a judge.

One of the FBI agents offered up a report on the raid, so someone higher up looked at the incriminating pics of the Pikeman boxes and felt they’d hit the jackpot.

At Deception, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) pushed Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) to reach a settlement with Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) since she was a single mom who depended on the company for her financial future.

Lucy felt that Tracy had made this personal and didn’t want to wave the white flag yet. There was no way Tracy could prove that she thought of The Deceptor first, so Lucy had a devious look in her eyes as she vowed to think of something.

At the gallery on Tuesday’s GH episode, Mason Gatlin (Nathanyael Grey) flirted with Ava Jerome (Maura West) and once again gave her a vague explanation about the delay on Nikolas Cassadine’s (Adam Huss) corpse.

When Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) came home, he called out for Nikolas and realized he wasn’t there. Nikolas finally came back after a morning jog and thanked Austin since he was almost back to normal after his traumatic brain injury.

With that in mind, Austin felt that it was time for Ava to know the real story. Ava was torturing herself over something that wasn’t true since Nikolas was alive and well.

Nikolas grew suspicious of just how close Austin and Ava had gotten, but Austin downplayed their connection and questioned whether the threat of prison was keeping Nik away from Port Charles.

Although Nikolas still had a few things to take care of, he assured Austin that he was eager to see Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez), Laura Collins (Genie Francis), Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay) and even set things right with Ava.

While Nikolas was in the shower, Ava called Austin to reveal that Mason was being a creeper and checking up on her. Ava added that Mason deflected on Nikolas’ body again and said he still had to work things out with the boss.

At Pentonville, Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) found Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) when he was getting out of the shower and warned that he was no longer under Sonny’s protection.

Sonny couldn’t even protect himself according to Cyrus, who claimed he overheard some other inmates saying Sonny got pulled in by the feds.

Drew was skeptical since Sonny was too smart for that, but Cyrus acted like the feds don’t mess around when it comes to violations of the National Security Act.

Later, Cyrus presented a chess set to Drew and talked about how it helped to see how the opposing player’s mind works. After Cyrus convinced Drew to play him, he seemed pleased over Drew making a good move against him on the board.

At their penthouse, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) voiced his concerns to Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) since this could be the end of his father.

Sam pointed out that Sonny always managed to get out of tight spots in the past, but Dante said he didn’t have a Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) this time.

Even so, Sam argued that Sonny had plenty of loyal people in his corner to help him fight the charges, including Diane. If Sonny was convicted, Dante felt that he’d spend the rest of his life in prison.

Dante assumed one of Sonny’s enemies snitched, and Sam’s gut was telling her it was a foe from outside Sonny’s organization.

When Sam wondered if this could be tied to what happened at the Metro Court pool, Dante didn’t think so – though he couldn’t rule it out.

Dante continued to fret over how many people would suffer if Sonny went to prison since it’d leave a gaping hole in his family.

While Dante was showering, Sam called Ferncliff and learned that Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) had been on a 24-hour watch and hadn’t been left alone since he got there.

After Sam vowed to call back later for updates, she muttered about Cody needing to tone it down or else he wasn’t going to be able to get to Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson).

Once Dante got out of the shower, he reflected on Sonny’s moral code being different from his own.

However, the more Dante got to know Sonny over the years, the more he saw that maybe their codes were inches apart rather than miles. Sonny was also Dante’s father, so he hoped that perhaps Sonny could beat the charges one more time.
